Dr. Stephen Gerald Owens, MD

It seemed he was completed both times before I knew it. I had no major pains and the scars are very small considering what they are doing. He is a very pleasant Doctor and checks on you daily while you are in the hospital. He is my Doctor of choice for any orthopedic work. Chuck

I injured my left shoulder from a bike-ride during my Swiss vacation. Three days later, I landed in Pasadena CA. I was searching for a direction/opinion regarding the AC joint sprain/fracture. Subconsciously, I knew if I could not find a good surgeon, the left shoulder will never start heeling properly. My definition of a "good" doctor is who is not afraid of telling his patient what his recommendation is, another words who is confidence in his profession. I believe the confidence came from many years of practice. It is already one week after the operation, I already feel much better than those days that searching for a surgeon. Dr. Owens might not be the best known doctor, but he does a great job. For that, I would recommend him to all my friends worldwide.

was given authorization for post operation therapy. dr. & physical therapist felt several additional therapy sessions would be needed. staff did not request therapy per drs. request. would not return calls. made a personal visit to drs. office to see why no action had been taken. was told that info. would be given to nurse. again, no request made per insurance co. another phone call yielded no response. maybe because i'm an hmo patient the staff makes its own decisions on my needs. not a sound way to run a business.

I think Dr. Owens saved my life because this is my 3rd knee surgery( ACL and Meniscus). Last 2 surgery was done with a different Doctor and my life was on pain for 2 YEARS. Since I have heard a lot of recommendations and suggested to see Dr. Owens. Which I did ASAP and this week is my second week after my knee surgery and everything feels right. Even on my second week I can tell knee feels good. Consider of getting open surgery multiple timse, think twice, think about cost and everything. Imagine if other Doctor will messed up your surgery and you have to do it again and paying it again with the co-pay and everything. I recommend everyone that see DR. Owens if you have knee problem or shoulder. Thanks Dr. Stephen Owens!

I have gone to Dr. S.G.Owens twice for surgery. Once for ACL and then later on for a Shoulder Separation. Hopefully I will stop injuring myself and won't have to see him anymore, but that is not the point of why I am writing. I am writing to protect his integrity from any negative comments I had read, and to extend my opinion of his skill. In short, he is incredible. I am pleased with his abilities. He does what he can for you. Thats his job. This comment is the least I could give back to him for what he has given to me in the past. He knows what he is doing and I would recommend him if you are considering surgery. Don't listen to comments from disgruntled people that allege poor O.M. and P.R. Listen to someone who was treated properly in the O.R. by the man himself, and twice at that. Thanks Dr. Stephen G Owens for fixing me. I won't forget you man....

Dr. Owens is a great doctor and surgeon. His office staff is exceptional! All are very professional and kind.

I broke a knee, but had been hobbling around on it for 10 days before getting a frantic call from the doctor to get off it and come in for a leg brace. It was a stress fracture -- guess the X=rays weren't checked right away.After more than 15 years and 6 breaks, plus more dislocated bones, and three surgeries in our family with this doctor -- probably resulting in up to $75,000 in med bills from us, I entered a hectic phase of my life with lots of travel and forwarded emails. I got behind on my bills. Owed him about $450, which I was late in paying, but did pay. Several years later, upon breaking another bone, in pain, I call the office, only to discover that I have been dropped as a patient for having been late with payments during that particular time.Such ruthlessness and snideness from office staff is uncalled for, particularly since we had been so loyal over the years. Dr. Owen is a man of few words, somewhat terse, and perfunctory. Following two surgeries on a torn… ligament in knee, my son continued to have disabling difficulties. I cannot speak to what another, possibly more skilled, doctor might have done to repair the damage, but the knee still does not work properly. So, perhaps it is for the best that I have been officially "dropped" as a patient. The first time anyone -- doctors, lawyers, dentists, -- anyone, has dropped me in all my 61 years. My new orthopedist is more efficient and more personable and attended a better med school anyway.

Dr. Owens has been treating me and my son for close to 10 years. He is caring, honest and his doctoring skills are great. We've had knees replaced, cadaver tissue donation implants, broken bones etc. All taken care of with skill and empathy. I've recommended him many times.
