Dr. Stephen A. Paget

It's very upsetting for me to have to write this because I like Dr. Pages as a person very much. He's warm,kind, and funny but he clearly needs to retire as I have received some of the worst care physically possible under his watch. He completely misdiagnosed me and gave me medicine that caused my illness to progress rapidly. No Doctor would challenge his diagnose because he was "a world famous doctor" until I went to the Mayo Clinic where they told me he was completely wrong. My body was irreversible damaged and seeing him remains one of the worst mistakes of my life.

Best dermatomyositis doctor I've seen at the Hospital for Special Surgery and surrounding area (out of four in a period of 18 years). Listens, asks pertinent questions, careful exam, referral to other specialists when appropriate. Actually tries his very best to help you!

He's kind, compassionate, responsive and knows his "stuff"

Dr. Paget is not only a brilliant clinician he's also one of the most patient, kind, and humane doctors I've ever met. His office staff is extremely professional and helpful as well. All very rare these days.

Dr. Paget diagnosed me quickly and started treatment. He is compassionate, understanding and empathetic. Email communication is convenient, but perhaps a little too reliant on it while discussing concerning symptoms. He also doesn't educate me on treatment plans or even the course of my disease, which can be frustrating. His office is impossible to get a hold of, and it can take more than 4 days to get a response. There should be a third person to answer phones.

Dr. Paget is an exceptional doctor both in his expertise and bedside manner and I've been to many rheumatologists. He truly knows his stuff and makes you feel like you are his only patient. He cares about the way you feel and wants to hear about how your progress through email. It's already a while since I've seen him and still communicate through email and get a quick response. Don't know why any person would not give this doctor a 5 star rating. So happy with Dr. Paget only thought it was right to comment here.

Dr paget was a true professional!- Even down to his bow tie!

After having been through a health roller coaster, I can honestly say Dr. Paget is EXCEPTIONAL. He is a brilliant diagnostician (as said previously), truly caring, knowledgeable is an understatement. He communicates primarily through email which is so convenient, and he answers back almost immediately! His office staff is wonderful as well. My whole experience there was excellent!

I must say that I'm more than extremely impressed with Dr. Paget's brains, compassion, professionalism, and humanity. He is a fabulous clinician, and just about the most thourough doctors I've ever seen. Also, his staff Monica and Amaryllis are wonderful.

Dr. Paget is a brilliant doctor with an amazing bed side manner and true diagnosing skills. He follows up with patients as promised and really cares about how you feel. He took time to listen to me, didn't make me feel like I was crazy or wasting his time, something rare these days. I've been to many doctors in the past two years, but Dr. Paget sticks out in my mind as the best I have seen. Worth the trip to NY if you don't live there.
