"Pain is the first sign of healing"

I have been in the emergency medical field as a provider for over 10 years. I say that because I want you to understand that I know what I’m talking about. I had gone to Dr. Pearl twice before I was convinced he was severely lacking in diagnostic skills and overall competence. He’s fine if you just need an annual physical with your vitals checked, but don’t ever rely on him if you’ve got a serious ailment. He’s told me several times that he was a medical director at a Texas ER which I find hard to believe that he was there for very long- we fire doctors like him quickly. He’s more interested in his computer and emailing prescriptions. He also made a very disturbing comment to me that he prescribed Adderall (a highly abused stimulant) to college students who want to pull all nighters.

Dr. Pearl is a highly intelligent, experienced, likable man. He delivers personal care to his patients...no nurse practitioner or assistant here. He showed great interest in listening to me, explanations were clear and easily understood. As a bonus he also is full of great practical advice on how to improve quality of life. He gave me answers to questions I didn't even think to ask. I did see that some of the reviewers here mentioned having to wait a bit. I waited too...and it doesn't bother me one bit. It's not like I was sitting around waiting for a meatball sub. The way I see it I'm getting life changing care, information, and advice from an actual Doctor.

What a great guy, takes time with you and cares

I was initially impressed with Dr. Pearl's experience and confidence but as time went on I began to realize how arrogant this man is. He decides very quickly what the problem is and then will spend ridiculous amounts of time trying to convince you he is right even when there is substantial evidence to the contrary. He pushes medications that are not appropriate or have been proven to not work for me. His arrogance is so bad that he will not remember what you said to him 5 minutes earlier because he is not listening to you. He is also not keeping himself current within the medical field and I am now on the hunt for a new GP.

He spent a lot of time reviewing my parents records and has helped them to get off of some medications that they had been on for years. There were newer medications that worked better with less side effects.

Doctor pearl spends time actually talking with his patients and explains his course of action and expectations of the treatment.

He is fantastic .... so smart he can diagnose in seconds!!! So down-to-earth and genuine.

Even at an early appointment he is using 30-40 minutes late to the office. Takes time with me. Doesn't care about the waiting patients

Although I've been a patient for a year, my experience with Dr. Pearl has always been top notch. Very thorough, explains everything & answers all questions (I usually have a list). Dr. Pearl is very proactive & makes recommendations that pertain to my situation.
