Dr. Stephen Lewis Reintjes JR., MD

DR. has been one of the best surgeons in KC for years.I personally had my back surgery from him and came out a new Pearson. I have a friend that was head of a surgical unit for years and saw multiple outcomes from multiple surgeons and she pointed me his direction.She said he was one of the best surgeons she had ever seen. Another friend of mine went to him also and he helped her to. Screw bedside manor. Do you want a great surgeon or someone that is nice and incompetent. DR Reintjeas has a great track record, he is the one for me if I ever need another back surgery.

Forget bedside manner, he is quiet and has little time during office visits for social chatter. (Just see how many patients come and go through his waiting room.) What mattered to me were his medical and surgical skills which were both excellent, very good outcome. I would recommend him.

Dr. R. does not waste words or time. He requires that you have tried lesser forms of treatment before having surgery. I think all these attributes are desirable ones in a surgeon. I had my back surgery about 16 years ago from him and it has held for that long. I

He is a provider for Farmer's Ins, Workman's Comp. He is in this for the money, I feel. He gave my fiancee' a note to retrun to work, without examining him. He did not ask him if he was capable of working. The first office visit he recommended surgery, and the next time he saw him, he told him he would not do surgery because of his ITP, when he told him on the first visit it would not be a problem. If you are sent to him for a Work Comp claim, I would fight it. He is unethical.

Dr Reintjes performed my second back surgery. The difference between the two doctors and surgeries was like night & day. I can't praise or recommend him enough. Thank you Dr. Rientjes for giving me back my life!

Have seen him for my problem had surgery still same problem then was told I was fine when mri shows that I still have same problem he won't discuss it tells me I'm fine but won't release me still have same symptoms now as I did before

I never picked up on bad bed side manner , however I did pick up on a Doctor who is serious and is prideful of his work on his patients . Dr. Reintjes is an excellent neurosurgeon and one that I would never second guess about going into surgery again if needed . He staff is friendly informative and all that i would expect from health care professionals. Bottom line for me is that the day before surgery I had to lay on the floor with a pillow between my legs to get a little relief , while on the day after surgery I walked out under my own power with almost little to no pain at all . He didnt even talk to me during the appointment, he talked to my husband then made an off the wall comment neither one of us appreciated.

Hate this man. Definitely getting a second opinion. He's rude and shouldn't be a physician!!!!

Great staff. It was easy to talk to Dr. Reintjes . I went to Dr. Reintjes for 2nd opinion . I was told I had Hydrocephalus ( water on brain) The good Dr. does not think so. we are doing more test. so far I think he is a very good Doc. seems to be a very caring person *****
