Dr. Stephen Dale Robirds, DDS

Our Dedicated Orthodontist - Dr. Stephen Robirds
Dr. Stephen Robirds was born in Texas City, Texas in 1955, but spent most of his childhood and teen years in Houston. After graduating from Memorial High School in 1973, he was accepted to the University of Texas at Austin. As an undergraduate, Dr. Robirds was an active member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and a service organization known as the Texas Cowboys. Dr. Robirds earned his bachelor of arts in biochemistry in 1976.
Having completed his undergraduate education, Dr. Robirds then enrolled in Baylor College of Dentistry in
Dallas, obtaining his doctor of dental surgery degree in 1980. Eager to further in his dental education, he enrolled at the Emory University School of Dentistry, where he was granted a certificate in the specialty of orthodontics in 1982. That same year, Dr. Robirds established his orthodontics practice. June of 2007 marked his 25th year of providing orthodontic and dental services to the Austin community.
Stephen …Robirds, D.D.S. is actively involved in the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). The current and former leadership positions he has held in the AAO include:
Member of the AAO Council on Orthodontic Healthcare
Delegate of the AAO House of Delegates
Member of the board of the Southwestern Society of Orthodontists (a regional constituent of the AAO)
Scheduled to become the president of the South Western Society of Orthodontists in 2009
Former president of the Texas Association of Orthodontists (the state component of the AAO)
Former president of the Capital Area Dental Society (the local component of the AAO)
Dr. Robirds is also a former delegate of the Texas Dental Association House of Delegates. Additionally, he is a dedicated member of the Capital Area Orthodontic Study Club and the Texas Orthodontic Study Club (formerly the Texas Tweed Orthodontic Study Club), and a former president of the Young Men's Business League in Austin. He is now President of the Southwestern Society of Orthodontists.
Far from forgetting his years of community service as an undergraduate, Dr. Robirds continues to give back to the community in his adult life. He serves as a member of the advisory board to the Foundation for the Austin Sunshine Camps, an organization dedicated to assisting at-risk youth. He has also served on the board of the Baseball Booster Club at McCallum High School, where his son, Jordan, played baseball.
Our Fun and Friendly Orthodontics Practice
At the orthodontics practice of Dr. Stephen Robirds, we provide exceptional treatment in a warm, inviting atmosphere. We treat patients of all ages, from eight to eighty, tailoring our services to the unique orthodontic needs of each patient.
Dr. Robirds utilizes various orthodontic treatment techniques including aesthetic, straight wire, and interceptive (pre-teen) orthodontics. Our dental professionals can subtly straighten teeth using clear synthetic sapphire brackets and Invisalign® orthodontics. Dr. Robirds also provides individualized treatment for patients suffering from TMJ disorder, combining orthodontics with orthognathic jaw surgery to treat jaw misalignment.
We currently have three convenient office locations: our main office in Austin and our two branch offices in Elgin and Giddings.

Nicole started in the field of Dentistry in 1983 and has been with our office since 1996. She always greets patients and their families with a warm smile and a helpful attitude.

Robbie joined our team in the Summer of 2009. She brings over 15 years of superb orthodontic skill and care. She completes our team with her quick wit and beautiful smile.
