Dr. Schaefer was born and raised in Iowa.  During his high school years, he moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he met his beautiful wife, Linda.  Dr. Schaefer completed his undergraduate studies in pre-med at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. With his status as a Husker fan secured, he completed his dental degree at the University of Nebraska as well. Following a two year fellowship with the United States Air Force in Great Falls, Montana, Dr. Schaefer moved to Fort Collins in 1977 to start his dental practice. From the beginning, Dr. Schaefer has treated his patients as if they were family members, and he knows he is doing his job well when they refer their friends and family to our practice. Dr. Schaefer strives to live by the …motto, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," and in so doing, he has garnered a large and loyal patient base. He has been selected for recognition by his peers on the 5280 magazine's Top Dentists list for over four years. Steve and Linda are blessed with three wonderful daughters, two great sons-in-law and three "brilliant" grandchildren. In his free time, Dr. Schaefer loves spending time with his family and friends, hiking and biking, exercising, cross country and downhill skiing, traveling and reading.
