I suggest going to a different doctor if you need treatment. I had pain in the top and bottom of my foot. When conservative measures failed, Dr. Schroeder seemed quite annoyed with me, told me my symptoms were very unusual (as if he did not believe me) and curtly ordered an MRI. The MRI revealed several issues with my foot, but he only focused on and diagnosed the most obvious one which required surgery. I had several very key questions prior to the surgery which his poorly trained staff gave me multiple, differing and incorrect answers to. When I told pointed this out to him, I do not think he really cared. He had no interest in finding out who said what to give them the proper training. As for the surgical outcome, I continued to have pain with every step post-surgery. I went to another doctor who correctly diagnosed the other remaining issues via doing a MUCH more thorough exam and listening quite carefully to my description of the pain, reviewing the MRI and x rays, and also… doing a CT scan. Unfortunately, fixing them required a second surgery.

I have found the Stephen Schroeder is rather arrogant and does not listen well. He did a repair on my fractured ankle and six months later it is still not right though he insists it looks good to him. Every time I wanted to ask a question he would interrupt me and say "If you will let ME finish I might be able to answer that question" It is rude and condescending and I will be seeking a second opinion elsewhere. My gut tells me that I probably did not need the surgery but since he a part owner in the surgical facility he ALWAYS recommends surgery. I wish I would have got a second opinion in the first place!

Poor communicator. My foot is far worse off than before the Achilles surgery. A year and a half later I am in pain every step I take and every activity I participate in. He took no responsibility and offered no solutions. He showed no concern or remorse and basically just cut me loose when healing did not go as planned. He was irritated when I complained of pain

The surgery may look good on paper but not if you are unable to participate in everyday activities without debilitating pain. Dr. Schroeder took a few stabs at finding out what the problem was and then basically sent me on my way without any solution or plan.
