My husband was admitted to Sharp Memorial for horrible nausea, swelling & abdominal pain. Dr. Shen was the doctor on call filling in for my husband's original doctor when he was off. He spent very little time with him and he felt worse when he released him from the hospital than when he was admitted as not only was the swelling worse, but he also now had diarrhea. Nursing staff (which is great at Sharp) was upset that he released my husband on a Friday night in the condition he was in. My husband did not improve and we took him to Scripps Mercy instead where it was found he had a deep vein thrombosis (pronounced swelling was evident in his leg when admitted to Sharp) and now also C-Diff, a highly contagious intestinal virus he got while at Sharp. We praise the entire staff at Scripps Mercy for catching what Sharp Memorial missed with Dr. Shen. My husband was treated appropriately and now is 150% better! We will never return to Sharp or recommend them to anyone due to this… experience.
