Openly bullies patients that don't share his views. Google it.

I highly recommend searching for a recent recording between Dr. Sobel and one of his patients. He belittles the patient for not being vaccinated and tells the patient he has no respect for them. Whether or not you are for or against the vaccine; this should worry you.

If you like to be gaslighted and belittled go see him. If not please seek help elsewhere.

I just heard a recording of him on the phone berating a patient of his on a national radio program and telling them how stupid they are for not getting the experimental vaccine. Wow. I hope this guy goes out of business and has his license revoked! He sounds like an absolute monster.

This dude doesn’t know Jack about psychiatry and should have his license taken away. Horrible advice given.

Dr Sobel can appear to be gruff but he is just direct and no nonsense. He took the time to listen to everything I said and to give feedback so I would understand. I'm glad I finally found him. I would recommend him.

I saw Stephen for many years and tolerated many of his annoying tendencies. He is a self absorbed narcissist. He refuses to fill out insurance forms and makes simple tasks more difficult they need to be. He is nothing more than a glorified drug dealer. You are rushed out of your appointment so he can get to the next one. In the 10 years I saw him, I have one appointment that was longer than 15 minutes. What put me over the edge is that he use personal information against me and caused a very hostile environment. So much I needed to remove myself in the middle of an appointment because I refused to take his harassment anymore. This caused me to not get the medication I need. He does not care that I will be without my medications and the impact of his actions. I will definitely be reporting him to the medical board and my attorney. He is a bully and only sees things his way. If you challenge him, he becomes unprofessional and causes a hostile environment. I am suppose to feel safe that I… can confide in him not to have him insult me and use my personal information that I confided in him against me. I will do whatever I can to ensure nobody else has to go through the same experience I did. There are plenty of people out there that can help. He is not one of them. Stay as far away from this guy as you can.

“Dr.” Sobel is completely unaware of how his words may impact some of his already voulnerable patients. Always rushed, forgets what was discussed previously, and cuts you off frequently to rush through the visit. Not a healer.

I was hesitant to see him because of the reviews, but I can honestly say that I am so happy to have found a doctor close to home that is as knowledgeable and genuine as he is. I think what some have taken for being rude is his redirecting you. What he's doing is keeping you on track and making sure that he gets the information he needs to make proper decisions and suggestions. I also think people confuse psychiatrists and psychologists, but that's just a guess on my part. He is a medical doctor, not a counselor though I found our session therapeutic nonetheless because he listened and so obviously cares about what he does. It took me a long time to find the right doctor and medications, I've been to "bad" doctors and had to really fight to find what works for me. I am currently very happy where I am at and achieved that with another doctor, but I relocated which lead to me looking for a new one. I consider myself very fortunate to have found another doctor who I trust, and who is… as experienced as he is. He was very respectful of what was working for me, had suggestions as to how I might even be able to improve more, but confidently reminded me that it was my choice. Thank you, Doctor Sobel.

Sobel left me feeling worse after speaking with him. He is rude, condescending, and eager to rush you out the door when a 15 minute appointment is supposed to take an hour. He wants to be paid in cash and seems just to be in it for the money. On our first phone consultation he launched straight into an interrogation about my health issues... even this is getting me worked up to write. Avoid this man altogether.
