Dr. Stephen Stephenson, MD

He has done all my colonoscopy’s and is an excellent Dr..Would highly recommend him.

I was hospitalized with pancreatitis and Dr. Stephenson was the only one out of many doctors in and out that said I didn't need surgery! Others wanted to take out the gallbladder but Dr. Stephenson said it was only sludge and not necessary at this point. He also looked at an IV I had with Invanz medication and said I should not be taking that. I had terrible diarrhea in the hospital from it and didn't know. He went off to speak to somebody about it and when the nurse came to refill this medication, I said no. This was years ago and I am still surgery free and I respect him very much because he tends to not follow the crowd and speaks his mind.

I recently had a routine procedure performed by Dr. Stephenson. His bedside manner and communication/social skills are non-existent. Prior to my procedure, he made no attempt to introduce himself, talk to me about any questions or concerns, or even just come into my room to see me. When I entered the procedure room, he kept his back to me and did not say a word. The first time I saw his face and spoke to him was when I was in the recovery area. In less than a minute, he explained what he did and left the room. Like many patients, I was apprehensive and nervous prior to having a GI procedure done for the first time. He has zero compassion for his patients. If you are looking for a doctor who has bedside manners and that you can communicate with, keep looking!

I found Dr. Stephenson to be courteous and extremely knowledgeable in his field of expertise. I was made to feel comfortable and he spent the necessary time with me to answer all my questions. His staff were very professional and pleasant. I did not have to wait very long and

I was referred to doctor Stephenson for a routine screening colonsoscopy 100% covered by insurance. Doctor Stephenson was an excellent physician and very professional except that at no point did he feel it important to mention that he was carrying out a medical colonoscopy not the screening I was referred to him for.Had I known this I would have left immediately and gone elsewhere. I am sorry but when I'm referred for a screening I expect a screening not a $1500 Bill for a medical colonoscopy that found nothing. Its this kind of overt omission that causes people to distrust hospitals and doctors. And in my opinion Rightly soThe billing departments attitude once they had issued the bill was to completely ignore me so I had to pay up or have my credit screwed. Probably not actually dishonest but certainly close to it.
