Dr. Stephen Tamang, MD

I got this doctor for my mother, she being diabetic had to keep a regular check on blood pressure level. She is on BP medication too and not easy to deal with. Dr. Tamang got through to her and she's SO MUCH BETTER. Also found sleep apnea which several other doctors missed.

I am not one for reviews but I just had to write this. I'm very happy with Dr. Tamang. He helped me so much with many medical issues.

Dr. Tamang has gone above and beyond helping me for the past several years.

In 7 years of searching for answers Dr Tamang was the only Dr that truly listened to my concerns and offered invaluable advice.

Great doctor. Really nice guy. Just see him once a year, and I'm confident he checks everything over really well.

So I don't normally write reviews but I just has to this time. Recently, I lost my cat best friend to cancer. It was the worse day off my life. Dr. Tomang helped me through this.

I've seen Dr. Tamang for approximately 3 years. He is the most thorough physician I've had. Compared to my previous physician, he was far more comprehensive and he did so in a very efficient manner. This is a great doctor, and I feel so lucky to have him as my primary.

I was looking for a new primary care physician, since few doctors in Rapid City will take Medicare patients. I have an illness that is uncommon and takes work on the physicians part. I also have Migraines, three herniated discs and degenerative disc disease that cause extreme pain. He took one look at my medications on the computer screen and then never looked me in the eyes again. He proceeded to go off on my doctors of over 20 years as being unprofessional and insinuated malpractice. He told me it was all in my head and that I had poor coping skills. He diagnosed mental illness simply by looking at my medications. I wasn't in there five minutes when he asked me if I thought my problems were psychologically based. Of course I reacted immediately and started questioning him. He couldn't get out of there fast enough. I've never had a doctor act so unprofessionally. In my opinion, when a doctor chooses to bad mouth other physicians, especially being a recent grad and a new… physician to Rapid City, it is covering up his lack of expertise. I paid for the visit and blood work and never went back. Arrogance will destroy his practice. I told the other docs exactly what he said about them. Great way to make a first impression with your colleagues.

had appointment for blood work and annual physical. Arrived for appointment and office informed me there computers where down, so couldnt take my new insurance card. Then when got into exam room nurse asked all kinds of medical history questions, I told her maybe I should come back when there computers where up and running because all that information was in my record. Dr came in and tried to salvage appointment but asked same questions and made me realize that without the computer to look at he had no idea who I was. New Dr. shopping.
