Dr. Stephen Frank Wheeler, MD

I'm 41yrs old. I was sent to UofL after another Hospital sent me home, from were I'd been dropped & popped my leg from my hip at their or another hospital, then sent me home yet again with my bone protruding. I called 911 & ask to be taken to UofL Hospital. Dr. Wheeler was one of the first docs I saw down in ER @ UofL. I was there without anybody I knew & 200 miles from home. From the start I felt safe with Doc Wheeler. After surgery patched me as best they could Doc Wheeler checked on me Every day while I was in the hospital & addressed & answered any concerns I had. His bedside manner & knowledge is some of the best I've ever seen. I've been in several KY hospitals since a auto accident in 1992 paralyzed me, so yea I've been around Many many Doctors. I was then sent to Kindred St. Anthony's (a place I'd been b4 & trusted) But I feared something was wrong. Dr. Wheeler was the Only one from UofL I could remember & I ask the staff at Kindred to make me a appt to see him. They setup a… appt fast, with little wait time. I wasn't in the waiting room long. Doc Wheeler came to me, addressed the problem & set me up with a surgeon to help me out & then he gave me his phone #. In all this time I was in Louisville my family doc at home left family practice. I had to find a new doc but I knew nobody else here at home. So I called Dr. Wheeler's office, told them my name & what I'd just gone through. The nice woman said she'd let him know ASAP. The phone rang & it was doc Wheeler himself (which I hadn't been use to a Dr calling me, they usually have somebody else call, at least were I'm from). He told me of some close to me he'd help train & told me some options, their names & so on. I got a new family Dr. & consider Dr. Wheeler a great Dr, a fine fellow, contact in Louisville & a friend. He really is a all around great person. You won't be sorry if you choose him. He really is a great guy that honestly does care
