Dr. Steve Robert Klafeta, MD

Just can’t say enough good things about this surgeon and his staff. Truly listens and cares!!! Not only is he talented in his field his staff makes the stress of surgery much easier

When I had my severe TBI back in 2011, I don't believe I can put into words how grateful I am for having had Dr. Klafeta as my Neurosurgeon. He is a true life saver. Although I have never met him, I understand he is an outstanding individual. My TBI was so severe that doctors and nurses were surprised that I even survived my accident, but Dr. Klafeta saved my life. According to my family, he did my surgery in under an hour. I was in an induced coma for about a month after my brain surgery due to trauma and swelling/complications, but I believe Dr. Klafeta had a huge part in my successful and FULL recovery (maybe more even - hard to say). If he had not acted so quickly, recognized what was wrong, and conducted my surgery in the manner that he did, I don't believe I would be typing this today. My recovery was long and hard: Over a year of in and out-patient therapy (physical, occupational, and speech), but it was thanks to Dr. Klafeta that I was graced with the opportunity to even… attend therapy. To top it off, his PA, Aaron, is outstanding. After his surgery, visits with Aaron, and my therapy; I went on to receive a degree in Neuroscience, work in the medical field, and now work for the State of Michigan and for the MDHHS. Needless to say, I could have never done all of this without him (getting emotional while typing this). I hope to meet you some day, Dr. Klafeta, and talk about the brain. Thank you. Thank you. What an amazing surgeon. We need more of you in this world.

Dr.Klafeta is rude,and works for business’s to prove your not hurt when you really are.He said i was fine,I went to another surgeon and had neck surgery that was amazing.

Very poor care!!!!

The doctor was very patient and he listen to my concerns. The doctor didnt just listen to myconcern he also listen to my three older boys as well, i was very pleased with him and didnt fill surgery wasnt the first option but the last.

Dropped me like a hot potato when a SECOND lumbar laminectomy ( to correct his first, failed one ) didn't heal after it became infected. It took another hospital system to finally cure the infection, and a total of almost a year before the wound healed. Was not going to give him a third chance.

I am sure he knows a great deal but he forgets we don't and are scared. He needs to explain things better or trust issues could arise. His staff did explain thank goodness.

Nice guy...not really informative when questioned tho. Kinda left me wondering .....

Amazing work. Worked side by side with Dr. Russo to take care of my spinal problem.
