Dr. Steve Keebum Nam, MD

Got a letter saying I have been discharged from his practice "due to mutual agreement." What mutual agreement?? (NONE.) I can only guess why I was discharged: My last visit was with one of his nurse practitioners. She recommended the umpteenth new medication to treat my high blood pressure. I complained that my medications have been changed many times in 20-plus years with no lowering of my blood pressure. She said I didn't have to take it. Did she mean (but not say) that if I didn't take it, I would be discharged from their practice? Also, before this, I called the office to ask if I should go to an ear-nose-throat specialist for persistent fluid behind my left eardrum - I could never get through to a human being, so I left a voice mail. I did this every day for 5 days straight and never got a return call. I called on the 6th day and got a return call back 2 hours later. That woman said this was the first time she received my message (!!!).

They blocked my father from the portal because he "took up too much of the nurse practitioner's time" with his questions about his health. He never even got to see Dr. Nam!

Cannot talk to you directly. No backbone.

Unprofessional, Totally lacking in Patient-Office staff skills, Very Poor Communications, No Computer Network Connections, Poor HIPA Knowledge

Dr. Nam became my primary doctor several years ago after he'd been HIGHLY recommend to us, and I couldn't be happier to have found him. It's refreshing to find a doctor who is caring, attentive, and doesn't rush you through an appointment. Dr. Nam stays up on the latest medical research as well, and I appreciate that.

Dr Nam and his staff really take their time with patients and explain health conditions well.

Dr. Steve is intelligent, caring and understanding. He and his CPN Laura are spot on as caregivers. However, given his empathetic style and concern for others, he over books and you can wait over two hours sometimes. But, they do stay until every patient is seen, well into the evening hours. This being said, Dr Steve has spread himself and his staff way too thin. The staff is overwhelmed, unorganized and unreliable. It takes up to four days to a week and several phone calls with promises of refills to come before you get them called into pharmacy. You can and will go up to a week without meds. Be prepared to somewhat manage your own case, follow up on your own referrals and lab results. Also, he will not address calls after hours or from the ER anymore. These things are disappointing and it is very dangerous for anyone to go without meds for so long and for anyone too elderly to do their own follow up. As I said I wouldn't trade Dr Nam for the world, but the staff needs help,… management and improvement. Please hire a designated office manager Dr Nam, it will do your practice wonders.

I liked Dr. Steve a lot; he listened to me, took my concerns seriously, and I didn't feel rushed during my exam. However, I have been thoroughly unimpressed with his staff. I was very surprised about how the person who called me back from the waiting room seemed to be pretty uneducated about medical issues; she couldn't even pronounce some basic medical terms, which was a little alarming. Additionally, I have had to call this office numerous times in order to get the results of labs that I had done WEEKS ago, and I keep getting conflicting information about whether or not they have received those results. In contrast, my previous doctor would contact ME within 3 days with my lab results. I didn't need to call them even once, let alone this many times. Getting my healthcare information should not be this complicated. Again, I did like Dr. Steve when I met with him, but I may not go back to this office, simply due to how disorganized and unhelpful their staff seems to be.

Great bedside manner, he is very caring and listens! He staff is friendly, I wish they were a little quicker to get back to you with lab results.
