Dr. Steve Sunkyun Shin, MD

Dr Shin has been a pleasure to work with, from the very beginning he has allowed me to make my own decisions even if he did not quite agree with them, maintain that if I’ve done my research and felt strong in those decisions, then he would do everything he can to provide me with great care. He has not disappointed.

Dr. Shin was not engaged in my situation: almost dismissive. My surgery was done by another surgeon under different insurance. I was concerned with muscle atrophy, scar tissue, etc - recovery-related questions. He had no recommendations other than to refer me to a physical therapist (which I have spent months attending). He ordered x-rays but offered few insights from them. Almost cavalier, he shrugged his shoulders a lot. Since I'm locked in to Kaiser, and he's the ortho surgeon, I have no options. I'm on my own. (Staff, btw, is excellent).
