Dr Archer is by far the best doctor that I have ever had.Now I'm going to have drive a little farther to see him. It's worth it.

Archer diagnosed a lump on my thyroid as a cyst despite all tests coming back indicating cancer. I repeatedly requested names of thyroid cancer specialists, and he repeatedly insisted he could handle this "very common, minor condition", and that he was sure it was just a cysthe had done many of them. I insisted, and he agreed, on having the pathologist in the operating room to analyze the cyst, so the entire thyroid could be removed if it was cancerous. The day after the surgery, archer informed me it was a cyst, and stated my body seemed to be already destroying the cyst. A week later, when I was having the stitches removed, I was asked if I was taking my medication for the CANCER. Not only had archer NOT BOTHERED TO READ THE PATHOLOGY REPORT, HE HAD NOT HAD THE PATHOLOGIST IN THE OPERATING ROOM AS HE HAD AGREED. I insisted on a referral to a good thyroid cancer specialist. He informed me he was in close communication with the "top specialists" at St Anthony Central, and it was… "fortunately" not a big deal as this was a very curable cancer, his surgery was the correct treatment, and he was getting the best information on following me from these "experts". Two to three years later I experienced symptoms again, but archer insisted I did not have cancer, that the tests showed me cured. After much searching on my own (archer wouldn't give me the information), I learned that I should be seeing an endocrinologist, found one of the top 25 thyroid cancer doctors in the country, Dr Ridgeway, was at University Hospital, Denver, and called to make an appointment. After seeing me, he sent me straight down to his surgeon and over to have an ultrasound the same day. The Cancer had returned with a VENGEANCE. The test archer had been running on me was NOT VALID unless the entire thyroid had been removed. Not only that, I learned that when archer had performed the first surgery 3 years earlier, it was normal procedure that he should have returned me to surgery immediately (such as next day) to remove the rest of the thyroid if it was cancerous. If not, the cancer was over 45% likely to return. There are other mistakes with other situations I could relate. He egregiously refused my repeated requests for specialists, didn't honor his agreement, didn't bother to read the pathology report, misinformed me about the surgery, treatment and my condition, and ran invalid tests which for about a year showed I was cancer free when in fact the cancer had returned. Do not trust your life or the lives of your loved ones to this person.
