Since Dr. Baak’s passing, the office has declined a lot in how they view you as a patient. I believe dr Baak ran his office with compassion… now it’s not the same. I had an issue that stressed me out completely..and there was no compassion from anyone that I spoke with in the office. It was more combative and I was told if I don’t like it, find another Rheumatologist. They know it takes months to get in as a new patient to a new Rhuem so we are at their mercy. It’s disheartening. And I see from other reviews recently I am not the only one……. And my journey as stated in the response below is due to Claudia’s rude combative call. You won’t tolerate hate? Then fire Claudia. The hate came from your end. I stated we are at their mercy… and I updated my review because it was misleading stating we are at their mercy while trying to find one. Someone got defensive and called me and said they are RETRACTING my FMLA and closing my chart? Because I had a complaint. Not one was I hateful until… you just made my next few months miserable because you can’t handle a complaint. Well… FYI… I’m coping and pasting to every review platform I can find for this office. You try to sound sweet like I was the bad person… thankfully I record all my conversations and writings

Haven't had a polymyotis flare up in 6 1/2 years! Prior to that I was constantly in the hospital & having physical therapy. Very glad CNE assigned Dr.Baak to me! Still have a lot of issues but they're under control for now. Couldn't be more grateful!

They do not care about their patients. Never have I experienced such unprofessionalism and lack of caring, and lack of knowledge on how to run a practice. One star is actually way more than what is deserved. In the beginning, I would have given 5 stars. Everything was great. But, then I experienced and found out the truth.....It's all about the money. As a previous poster stated, they refused to see the patient over owing $5.00. They will drop you as a patient in a heartbeat and leave you without medical care for something as small as owing $5.00 and other ridiculous reasons. You will see Dr. Baak on your first visit but not after that. All appointments after that will be handled by nurse practitioners. Unfortunately, Dr. Baak and his wife Julie don't have this practice to help people. It appears to be only a profit based business to them. Trust me, there are good Rheumatologists out there who truly care about, and want the best for, their patients, and have staff and managers who… know the proper way to interact with patients.

Dr.Baak is a top rheumatologist in my book. After going to numerous rheumatologists over 20 years with no success, I was referred to Dr.Baak. At my first appointment he knew exactly what the problem was. He also explained thoroughly why the other diagnoses I’d been given weren’t correct. After he ran a series of blood tests and X-rays he prescribed medication that has helped manage my pain and immune system disorders. He’s a caring, compassionate & very knowledgeable doctor. His staff are all very kind & compassionate too. I never have to wait long to get in to see him. I’m so thankful I was referred to him.

While accompanying my terminally ill daughter to her apt, Dr Baak did not wear a mask saying he was vaccinated and would not speak to my immune compromised daughter unless she took off her mask. She is unable to get vaccinated due to her varied serious medical conditions. He then told her he wanted her to take an injection therapy drug, a drug another Dr ( who Dr Baak referred my daughter to) has told her never to take due to her year long reaction to an injection of humira perscribed by Dr Baak. When I told him this, he spoke badly about the Dr he referred us to, and my daughter's whole team of Drs. Then he said I've had enough, got up, tore my daughter's paperwork up that she had painstakingly prepared, threw it in the trash and left the office ending her apt. Walking out like a mad toddler. When the office mgr was called she became combative when I said I was worried that perhaps due to his recent brain tumor, he should be checked to see if he is fit for duty. I later learned his… office mgr is his wife. We then received a mail notice saying she must find a new Dr, which we already were going to do after this unprofessional, embarrassing appointment. Beware.....this man has issues!

The Doctor and Physician Doctors, Nurses, Infusion Folks are the best here in the Midwest and St Louis!

My sister was a patient and tried many drug therapies. Nothing helped, her health deteriated she almost died and Dr baak laughed in her face when she complained to him. He works for pharma now. He no longer has compassion and what is best for the patient first.

Great place, no snobs

Even during Covid they are all working giving the best RA care in St. Louis.

Dr. Baak's infusion staff are the best around.
