Dr. Steven R Baker, DDS

Dr. Steven R. Baker Dr. Baker has been practicing in Prairie Village since 1983. He was born and raised in the Kansas City area. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors Degree in Biology, he attended UMKC School of Dentristy.   Dr. Baker and his team strive to maintain a balance between providing state of the art dentistry, in a warm and nurturing environment. They have always believed in looking for new ideas, methods, and techniques to better understand the complete needs of their patients. From the latest advances in clinical treatment to behavioral aspects of dental care, Dr. Baker and team are committed to the care of each and every person whom choose their office. Annually, he attends significant continuing education that contributes to the more than 25 years of experience. He is Certified to practice Level I Anesthesia (Oral Sedation) in the state of Kansas. He is active in the local 5th District Dental Association, as well as an alumni member in the …L.D. Pankey Institute for the Advanced Dental Education, Fellowhip of the International Congress of Oral Implantology,  Dental Organization of Conscious Sedation, Kansas Dental Association as well as the American Dental Association.   Dr. Baker is active in his community and with his family. A long-time coach of baseball when his two boys were younger, to scoutmaster of their Boy Scout troop, he enjoys spending time with youth and giving back to the community. He chooses to volunteer his services with Southwest Boulevard Family Health Clinic on his days off.   Dr. Baker and his wife Shelley have been married since 1979. They have two sons, Andrew and Colin. Together, they enjoy the outdoors. Be it hunting, backpacking, cycling or watching a sunset, they enjoy each day together. Dr. Baker still truly enjoys the art and science of dentistry.
