Dr. Balloch’s Experience and Education
Dr. …Balloch’s advanced education began at the University of New Hampshire, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry. He continued his studies at the Georgetown University School of Dentistry, graduating with honors in 1975. After completing his general practice residency, he served in the U.S. Army Dental Corps, focusing on fixed prosthodontics and earning numerous awards and commendations for his work. He established his current practice in Glastonbury, Connecticut, in 1984.

In addition to his position as a respected cosmetic dentist in the Hartford, Connecticut area, Dr. Balloch is a member of several esteemed professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Both a devoted dentist and family man, Dr. Balloch has raised three children and currently lives in Glastonbury, CT with his wife.
Meet Dr. Eric J. Whidden
Dr. Whidden grew up in Ellington, Connecticut and developed an early interest in dentistry, working in a dental office, and winning Connecticut State Science awards for his research in oral health.  He completed a pre-medical course of study at Connecticut College, graduating with high honors and awards for academic excellence and community service.
He then attended the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, where he was Class President and active in many other leadership and volunteer activities. He was a student tutor in the areas of Oral and Dental Anatomy and Clinical Periodontics and a volunteer at Give Kids A Smile and Missions of Mercy Projects.  Dr. Whidden received numerous honors and scholarships while in dental school including Elizabeth and Eugene C. Harrison Scholarship, Edmund J. Glen Fund Scholarship, American Dental Association Award of Excellence, Dentsply Award for Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, and the International College of Dentists Student Leader Award.  He graduated #1 in his class with Dean’s High Honors, as Class President, and was one of fifty doctors nationwide to be inducted into the elite Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Dental Honors Society Supreme Chapter; the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a dental graduate.
Professionally, Dr. Whidden is a member of the American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, the Hartford Dental Society, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.  He has attended numerous American Dental Association Conferences, American Academy of Orthodontics Conferences, and Hinman Annual Dental Meetings.  His education in the area of orthodontics and his interdisciplinary approach to dentistry has earned him certification to perform Invisalign procedures.  Dr. Whidden has trained at elite cosmetic dentistry centers including The Pankey Institute in Miami, FL and completed many continuing education courses in the areas of dental esthetics.
