Dr. Steven Harvey Baron, MD

I saw Dr Baron in 1990 for sexual development issues. He performed a surgery and put me on a regimen of testosterone. As soon as I was legally able to refuse the treatment in 1995, I did. I have always been female identified, an was finally able to start HRT on MY terms in 2008, after struggling to meet masculine social norms. I didn't even know transition was an OPTION until 2007. I believe i was pressured into consenting to surgery along talking points such as 'this will make you normal', and 'you wont feel like a girl any more', and angry 'if you don't sign this..' looks from my mother. I hope Dr Baron has come to a better understanding of gender identity over the past 30 years, because he has done serious and irreversible damage to my body.

The best money we spend is for Dr. Baron's medical expertise and his incredibly caring attitude. Despite the constant battles he must have with insurance companies telling him how to practice medicine, he manages to give my family the most amazing care! Dr. Baron's pro-active approach to medicine has saved me thousands of dollars in the long run. And thanks to him, there will be a long run! Thank you Dr. Baron and staff!
