Dr. Steven Benitez, MD

Steven Benitez, MD, is an attending neuroradiologist at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Radiology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Benitez performs and interprets advanced imaging techniques such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), MRI with perfusion, and vessel wall imaging to assist ordering providers in caring for their patients.After obtaining his Bachelor of Science from Fordham University in 2007, Dr. Benitez completed a Post-Baccalaureate at the same institution in 2008, followed by an additional Post-Baccalaureate at Mercy College in 2009. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2014. Dr. Benitez completed an internal medicine internship at Jacobi Medical Center in 2015, followed by his diagnostic radiology residency at Montefiore Einstein in 2019. He remained at Montefiore Einstein to complete a diagnostic neuroradiology fellowship in 2020 and an advanced neuroradiology fellowship in 2021.Building …on his clinical expertise, Dr. Benitez’s research focuses on neuroradiology imaging findings of various disease processes, such as aneurysms, stroke and neoplasm. His work has been published in several peer-reviewed publications, and he has shared his work through scientific presentations.Dr. Benitez is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology. He is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, the American Society of Neuroradiology and the American Society of Functional Neuroradiology. In 2019, Dr. Benitez was inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society for his Outstanding Achievement in the Teaching of Medical Students. In 2020, he received a Certificate of Merit at the Radiologic Society of North America Conference for 3D Printing in a Radiology 3D Imaging Lab during COVID-19.
