Dr. Steven T Brower, MD

I've been seeing Dr. Brower for 15 years and he is excellent. He is a leader in his field and has unbelievable knowledge. His care for me and my family has been unparalleled by any other specialist and I wouldn't trust another doctor with my life. He's courteous, patient, helpful, understanding and entirely dedicated to enhancing my health, my life and my family.

When Brower told me he would do my liver resection and how he was head of the cancer unit at Anderson Cancer Instute 4700 Waters Ave Savannah Georgia located at the same adress as Memorial Hospital I believed him. after the surgery I found out Dr. James Garber removed the two sections of the liver this a liver resection not Brower this is called a BAIT AND SWITCH. Bait the patient with telling them they will have a doctor with over 30 years experience and then send in one with not even close to 30 years experience. when you are drugged in the operating room you are defenseless. Both these doctors are still operating brower last I heard at Continum Cancer Beth Isreal or one of their hospitals under them and Garber at Anderson Cancer Instute Memorial Hospital 4700 Waters Ave Savannah Georgia I have heard we now have doctors going back to school to get law degrees so that when we go into surgery we can take a lawyer who was a doctor into the operating room to watch our doctor and… protect us legally while we are drugged in the operating room so we do not become victims of BAIT AND SWITCH as I was at the hands of Steven T. Brower and James Garber.

It's beem 18 months since he did my surgery and I'm still crying in pain something is wrong as a result of this surgery he did to me. I wasn't crying in pain befor.

Dr. Brower is at the top of the list for the kind of cancer surgeon anyone would hope to have care for them. Nationally recognized as one of the best in the US per Castle Connolly, (the hardest publication for an MD to be referenced in.) Superior training, credentialing, and an excellent, caring bedside manner.He had the "whole package!" You and your family always feel informed and that you are in the hands of ONE OF THE BEST AROUND! I have heard he is leaving the Savannah area to return to a senior position at a large, academic medical center in NYC, and I am so sorry for this LOSS for Savannah. We did a lot of research before seeking his expertise, and the next closest doctor with his skill level, was at Emory in Atlanta! It is truly SAVANNAH'S LOSS that he is relocating out of the area. NO ONE CAME CLOSE TO HIM. Always extremely supportive and compasionate to me and my family as we dealt with this terrible disease of Cancer.

Stay away from this doctor he is very abusive in the form of not seeing patients for dsays after surgery, not telling patients the entire truth before surgry,denieing me medical attention, is this how you want to be treated? I said it befor and I will say it again if you treated a dog the way I was treated you would be arrested.As afriend of mine said when I told her he was going back to new york "now you can get a real doctor."No cancer patient deserves to be lied to and abused the way I was with him for a surgeon. Stay away from him.

HE IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY, I SAID AND PUT IN WRITING NO STUDENTS IN THE OPERATING ROOM, NO STUDENTS OPERATING ON ME,I WAS NOT TO BE USED AS A TEACHING TOOL AS SOON AS AI WAS UNDER ANESTHESIA STUDENTS WERE BROUGHT INTO THE OPERATING ROOM ONE DID PART OF MY SURGERY AND ANOTHER DOCTOR I NEVER MET DID PART OF IT. HE DID NOT COME TO SEE ME UNTIL 4 DAYS AFTER SURGERY WHEN I MENTIONED TO HIM ANOTHER DOCTOR TOLD ME HE DID PART OF THE SURGERY HE LAUGHED AND SAID HE WASN'T SUPPOSE TO TELL YOU. HE WITHELD INFORMATION FROM ME I NEEDED TO KNOW BEFOR SURGERY AND HIS ANSWER WAS WE TELL PEOPLE AFTER SURGERY. THERE WERE TIMES AFTER SURGERY I WAS IN PAIN AND HE DID NOT SEE ME IWAS TOLD TO SE HIM AT MY NEXT SCHEDULLED APPOINTMENT I ENDED UP GOING TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. WHEN I SAW HIM WEEKS LATER HE COMPLAINED ABOUT OTHER DOCTORS SEEING ME WHEN I WAS IN MRI AFTER SURGERY A DOCTOR WAS PAGED TO HELP I WAS SOBBING IN INTENSE PAIN THE NURSE PUT ON MY CHART NO DOCTOR SHOWED UP THEY JUST LEFT ME CRYING IN PAIN… FOR OVER HOUR TO HOUR AND HALF.NOW HE FINALLY ADMITS TO ME I HAVE SCAR TISSUE AND ADHESIONS WHICH ARE VERY RARE TODAY AFTER SURGERY IF IT IS DONE WITH THE PROPER PRECAUTION. HE TOLD ME TO TAKE TYLENOL WHICH IS PROVEN CAUSES LIVER CANCER WHICH I HAD.I HAVE TALKED WITH OTHER CANCER PATIENTS WHO HAD SURGERY AND NO ONE 10 MONTHS LATER IS STILL IN PAIN AND CRYING.THE ONLY OPTIONS IS TO CRY IN PAIN. PEOPLE ESPICALLY PEOPLE WHO ARE SO WEAK AND DEPENDENT AFTER MAJOR SURGERY SHOULD NOT BE TREATED THIS WAY
