Dr. Steven Allen Campau, MD

This guy is so full of himself. I saw him to get my vaccines for grad school and he spent 20 minutes talking about how his wife is a "career student" and how getting graduate degrees in anything other than medicine is pretty much worthless. Not that I asked, idiot.

He spends to much time talking about himself. He miss diagnosed me a few times, repeated my feelings to another physician that caused problems because HE misread my diagnosis from a test done by another doctor. He will not read information given to him from surgeons regarding procedures, follow up care, medications, etc. I have Chiari Malformation and just had my 2nd surgery and he is clueless to the pain I'm in! He has no knowledge nor wants to know about anything that isn't your basic head cold. He seems to relate to men better than women and is willing to whatever they need versus a woman. He's a nice person, but if you want a physician that works with you and others involved in your care then find someone else.

Dr. Campau has always been dead on with his diagnosis of me. He has fought for my rights when the insurance companies did not want to preauthorize a test, and in one case it was life saving. He may seem abrupt at times, but he is always willing to listen and work with you. His nurses are fantastic and office staff has worked with me to help me through very rough times.

Excellent Doctor!! Found him off of the Advocate website and went in for my yearly physical. The office and nursing staff were all very friendly and helpful. Dr. Campau took the time to thoroughly review my medical history, questions & concerns. He was very knowledgeable and I feel he went above and beyond to address my concerns even giving me additional information specific to my age and lifestyle. I did not feel rushed at all. Highly recommend and will definitely be continuing to see him as my primary care physician.

Visit #1-I was advised after a 15 minute wait that Dr. Steve had a train to catch & I would not get my full appointment, my physical consited of him listening to my back while breathing and hitting my knee caps 3 times. Thats it! Then he had to catch his train. But hey, they didnt miss a beat when it came to billing my insurance for a physical-that never happened. Utterly miserable.Visit #2- My ear was swelled shut, I was in alot of pain, and left side of my head was partially swelled as well, not to mention a massive headache. I showed on time, 30 minutes later, I asked whats going on, explaining I had a child to pick up. The female staff could have cred less, and it showed, no explanation, no apology for the wait, utterly unprofessional. Finally, they advised me it would be another 30-40 minutes! Outrageous. I walked out. ** DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS DR. AND STAFF **
