Steven Co is easily the worst Psychiatrist I have ever worked with. After being with an amazing Psychiatrist for about 15 years, I was switched to Steven Co upon my long-time Psychiatrists retirement. Steven immediately began pressuring me to change or discontinue medications which have been extremely helpful to me over the last 20 years. Steven seemed to have an agenda from our first meeting, and it wasn't to get to know me or what worked for me, but to arbitrarily change my standard of care. Trying to work with this Dr. increased my anxiety and insomnia substantially. To treat a patient with generalized and social anxiety in this manner. during a pandemic nonetheless, seems unconscionable. At one point after agreeing to keep my prescriptions the same as they have been for 20 years, he refused a refill initially for one of them. Upon discussing this issue with Steven he agreed to refill it as we had agreed upon, I felt suspicious after out appt. and checked to make sure he had kept… his word, turned out he had refilled half of my usual dosage. I emailed him immediately to ask about this discrepancy and received no response. A month and a half later I resent the email and asked for a response, Steven replied in a callous and impersonal way, referring to me as "the patient" instead of by name and suggesting that he made this non-consentual change so that "the patient" could get the right dosage easier. This was never mentioned in our appointment, nor had I ever had an issue with dosage. I would not recommend this person to anyone seeking psychiatric care.
