Dr. Steven Paul Cummings, MD

Fifteen years ago at age 72, although I had never suffered a heart attack, I was experiencing symptoms and had test results that revealed the urgent need for open-heart surgery. Given a choice between several hospitals I was admitted to Winchester, VA where Dr. Cummings was then practicing. Fortunately, I was assigned to be his surgical patient. He gave me three bypasses which are still providing me excellent trouble-free service. Until he moved away from Winchester I sent him a "thank you" card each year on the anniversary of my surgery. Today, after hearing an excellent sermon about showing gratitude, I had the urge to Google his name and found this opportunity to "sing his praises" once again. Soft spoken but friendly and thorough. Re-assuring during pre-operative consultation, did a fine job of the surgery and was consistently attentive to post -operative care in the days following highly invasive heart surgery. Excellent surgeon.
