Meet Dr. Damelio
Steve Damelio, D.M.D.
Dr. Steven Damelio is a native Rochestarian who grew up in Webster, New York and attended Webster Schroeder High School. He graduated with a B.A. in Biology from the University of Rochester in 1983. While at the U of R, he became a brother of the international fraternity Delta Kappa Epsilon and served as president of the fraternity his senior year. Dr. Damelio was accepted to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston graduating in 1987. While at Tufts, he completed five-week "mini-residencies" in dentistry at Concord State Hospital in New Hampshire and New England Medical Center in Boston. Following graduation, he entered private practice, becoming an associate of Dr. John Storella in Boston. Dr. Damelio returned to the Rochester area in 1990 and joined the dental practice of Dr. Matthew Mauro in Penfield, NY and he took over the practice in 1991. He is past president of the Monroe County Dental Association and chairman of the New York …State Dental Society's Seventh District Peer Review and Quality Assurance Committee. He is continually building his practice in Penfield by taking continuing education classes, learning updated procedures and educating his hygienists and staff.
Dr. Damelio volunteers his time performing oral health screenings for the pre-school Headstart programs in the City of Rochester and enjoys his yearly visits to local elementary and pre-schools to talk to the children about dental health. The office also contributes yearly to a children's charity, collecting new or slightly used hats, scarves, and mittens.
Dr. Damelio and his wife, Debbie, have three young sons: Matthew, Jacob, and the youngest is Michael. When he isn't doing dentistry, you will usually find him coaching his sons' sports teams, playing golf, or working on his home in Penfield.
