Dr. Steven Dellose, MD

Dr. Steven M. Dellose is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and specializes in Total Joint Replacement. He is one of the largest volume joint replacement surgeons in the tri-state area and a partner at Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists, performing the most Total Joint Replacements in the state of Delaware. He was the first Orthopaedic Fellowship-Trained Joint Replacement Surgeon in New Castle County entering into practice in 2002.

He attended AI DuPont HS and after finishing his undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware with honors, Dr. Dellose earned his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He completed an internship in general surgery at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and finished a four-year residency with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery earning multiple awards and recommendations. He concluded his advanced specialty studies completing an Adult Joint Reconstruction Fellowship at the …University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2002. Dr. Dellose has collaborated and contributed to medical textbooks and performs speaking engagements and lectures to professionals and other medical doctors and students.

Dr. Dellose is a member of numerous specialty organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Eastern Orthopaedic Society, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society, and the Delaware Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Dellose served as the Medical Director of the Advanced Center for Joint Replacement at Christiana Care Health System and is the current Medical Director for Restore Orthopaedic Surgical Institute (formally MUVE Chadds Ford) in Chadds Ford, PA. He is the current Vice President for the Delaware Society of Orthopedic Surgeons and is one of the Executive Committee Members for the Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists organization.

He was also involved in the National Physician Advisory Board for MUVEHealth and has collaborated with his partners in Outpatient Surgery to develop protocols and pathways to aid in the recovery of joint replacement. The development of ROSI (Restore Orthopaedic Surgical Institute), a free standing Ambulatory Surgery Center, will serve as the leading Outpatient Joint Replacement center in the area with an intended volume of over 1200 cases per year. He is also involved as a consultant to various Orthopaedic Companies and helps in joint replacement implant design.

Dr. Dellose was born and raised in Wilmington, DE. and enjoys serving the community that has been his home since starting practice in 2002. Dr. Dellose is married and enjoys spending time with his family, his wife Jayne, his daughter Meghan and his son Jack.
