ARROGANT

My father can to Dr. Etoch with a diagnosis of heart failure. After having a cardio cath it’s was recommended that my father have bypass surgery. Dr. Etoch told my dad and mom he would do pre admission testing a week before his bypass. They discussed with him that my dad had bypass 17 years ago. They proceeded with the pre admission testing and were told to come to the hospital for the surgery. They checked in yesterday did everything they were told. All of his children and wife along with grandchildren hugged and kissed him as they took him back for surgery. After all the time he spent in hospital prepping for bypass the anst. Doc comes and has to put in another iv to do the surgery which was so painful. Dr. Etochs assistant arrives first and notices my dad does not have the veins to have the surgery done at all. We were discharged with no apology from Dr. Etoch. His assistant matt along with the hospital staff were amazing. This is not something you do to someone. You don’t have them… do all the pre admissions testing admit them take them back for bypass and then tell them you didn’t read the test or look at them correctly. This has been a rollar coaster of emotions not only for my father but my mother along with his children family and friends. My hope is that he will reach out to apologize for the lack of communication and emotional distress he caused everyone. Treating people like a number is not ok. Treat them the way you would treat your family.

Dr. Etoch did bypass surgery x 5 on me on 7/31/2017. From my first meeting with him pre-surgery he exuded an air of confidence that made me feel at ease about the surgery and his abilities as a surgeon. I went into surgery with the feeling that I was in good hands and everything was going to turn out fine...and it did. I haven't had my post surgery follow-up visit with him yet but I feel he is an excellent surgeon and would highly recommend him to anyone needing open heart surgery.

Dr. Etoch fixed a dissected aorta on an emergency basis in the middle of the night. He can do no wrong in my book.

Dr. Etoch performed a CABG 4 on me 11/2/12. He was great. The surgery only took acouple of hours. He helped me with recovery. And visited me daily. He is instrumental in saving my life. I would always recommend him.

Great surgeon. Described procedure in detail. Answered all my question. Great bedside manner.

Dr. Etoch is probably an excellent surgeon, however, his people skills are lacking. I was only in his office for a few minutes. We were out so fast that I cant even remember everything he said. Additionally, he is extremely talented when it comes to talking down to people.On the good side, his staff are excellent.
