Meet Dr. Firshein
Dr. Steven Firshein has lived in the South Bay area for almost three decades. In that time, he raised four children and built one of the best dental practices in the area, Manhattan Beach Dental. But dentistry isn't his only interest. He is an avid cyclist and he also enjoys tennis, volleyball, skiing--both snow and water, and martial arts. Additionally, he served as a reserve officer with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department for 15 years. Clearly, Dr. Firshein is committed to making his home a better place. He demonstrates this with both his civic engagement and the professional, caring and contemporary dental treatment he has provided in this area for over 25 years.
Dr. Firshein once said, "Living and working in the same area as my patients means that many of them have become friends, and I want my friends to have the best." Before making his home in the South Bay, Dr. Firshein grew up in New York City. He graduated from the City University of New York, with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. His dental doctoral program was completed at the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. He moved to California when he was accepted to the Marine Hospital Residency Program in San Francisco. He was introduced to dental specialties such as pediatrics, prosthodontics (tooth restoration), endodontics (root canal treatment) and oral surgery. His training continued as he served in the U.S. Public Health Service, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander, before retiring that post for the private sector and opening Manhattan Beach Dental.
