Dr. Steven Hayden Gausewitz, MD

I think Dr Gausewitz is a very good Dr. I felt that I was in good hands. Will recommend him to all who need hip surgery.

Efficient, competent, optimistic yet realistic

Newport Orthopedic is what Orthopedic Surgery should be. They are well- staffed, Incredibly knowledgeable, Very Courteous, Helpful,, comforting,,,Everything that you would expect of a first class, upscale,Medical Practice . They can be busy, at times, but, the word has gotten out of how great they are !

Excellent Doctors. Both Gausewitz and my anesthesiologist Dr. L. Smith . Excellent nurses and PT staff. I was up and walking by the evening of my surgery. Two weeks post op and I'm walking without a cane pain free. Very pleased with the Hoag group.

Dr. Gausewitz is seeing me through a horrific osteo-arthritis of the hip situation, with a recent hip replacement. Mine was more complicated than most, but through it all, Dr. Gausewitz was up-front and honest with me, very kind, but never gave me false hope, nor did he make promises he couldn't keep. I felt in good hands, and there are no hands I'd rather have mend me back together than his!

I just had my second Total Knee Replacement surgery performed by Dr. Gausewitz. I was happy with the first surgery he did, so, I definitely wanted him to be my surgeon for the second surgery, too. I did have a problem, with the second surgery, but, it was not anything Dr. Gausewitz did. I'm glad he was there. He does a nice job with the suturing, too. So, if you want an excellent orthopedic surgeon, go with Dr. Gausewitz.

The calmness and ease the doctor has with his patients. He puts everyone around him in a relaxed mood. His appointments ran pretty well, there is no memory of an absolute horrible wait, but there was always a slight wait. He staff is friendly and ready to assist you in anything. Smiles are everywhere

Dr. Gausewitz has done my surgery with very limited incisions and pain. I was very concerned prior of my surgery but the entire program from the beginning of the scheduling the operation, the pre-opt class,instructions of getting my home ready and care taker education had helped me trmediously. Kudos to Dr.Gausewitz and entire staff

He is an absolute wonderful Dr. He has done both my left and right knee replacements. Hoag Orthopedic Institute is a wonderful facility, the staff is awesome as well.
