Dr. Steven Howard Goldstein, DO

I have been a patient for six years. The advice that was given to me never changed “just wait as long as possible, and keep an eye on the symptoms.” My symptoms never changed. My vision would go black if I stood up to fast, dizziness and shortness of breath. Eventually my wife convinced me to get another opinion. Less than two months after being cleared for a YEAR by Goldstein i saw doctors at uva that informed me I was a ticking time bomb. I was told not only would I not make it to my next appointment but that I have a large aneurysm most certainly caused by waiting to long and it need immediate surgery or death was imminent. Since my surgery I have still seen Goldstein because he is very nice, and calming. However he has made no attempt that I can tell from my visits to speak with my surgeon or his team in uva. Also I have sat in his waiting room for two hours past my appointment time only to find out, he’s not in the building. Today was the last straw. Once again I show up early… to my appointment (I’m a sucker) because they ask. I got the kids up fed and off to the hospital. Guess who wasn’t there? Dr. Goldstein really is a sweet man with a calming demeanor, but he is a man and in my case he has made mistakes after mistakes. I’m so fortunate to be alive. Always get a second opinion!!!

First time meeting Dr. Goldstein.The patient I took in for an appointment was very apprehensive about meeting a new doctor. He put her at ease immediately with his calming persona. Very knowledgeable and patient oriented. Thank you for being an outstanding physician!

Dr Goldstein is an excellent doctor. His caring and kind manner means a lot to me. His medical care has enabled me to live a full and normal life even though I have many heart problems. He has made many wise decisions on my part. I truly appreciate him.

Dr. Goldstein was on call when I had 2 cardiac arrests 2 years ago. He has continued after hospital visits. I cannot say enough good things about his consideration, care, and treatment. He is as concerned about my family as well as me. I definitely would recommend him (and have done so) to friends and family. His office staff is very thoughtful and helpful. Truly an asset to this community.

We are very fortunate to have a doctor of Dr. Goldstein's ability in our community. We liked him the first time we met him and have the greatest of confidence in him. He listens very well and understands our fears and worries. Please do everything possible to keep him!

I was not a patient, but my mom was, which is important to me for her to receive the best care. I think she did with Dr. Goldstein . He is thorough and explains things well. I appreciate his concern and interest in my mom.

Dr. Goldstien he would say when he was going to do anything. He also asked me if I was OK. He was super nice.

In my opinion, Dr. Goldstein is the best cardiologist in the Roanoke area. In regard to the rating above, a rating of 5 stars does not come near what Dr. Goldstein should be rated for Bedside Manner and also in other areas. He is the BEST and his staff are great.
