Dr. Steven Gary Harper, MD

My PCP referred me to Dr. Harper. From first visit through 6 months of follow-up this man was horrific to deal with, at every turn. It is bad when your patient tells you month after month he will need surgery again. How this mans license to practice has not been revoked is a sheer miracle. He dismissed any question or concern emphatically. He was right, had been doing this for decades... DECADES... Who was I to question the great Dr. Harper. Second surgery I did my research and have not had a problem since - Newer technique, modern medicine - God forbid, to Dr. Harper modern medicine was FAKE NEWS in my experience.

At my consult I was told the max out of pocket would be $400 i advised them the colonoscopy was covered at 100% preventive care. Three weeks after the procedure they send a bill for $2000 and their is another bill coming per my conversation with Aetna. I did my due diligence before the procedure to confirm my financial responsibility speaking with the doctors office and Aetna. Aetna reaches out to them to have them correct their billing and they refused. On top of that I never received results from supposed biopsy on polyp. Scam!

I have been seeing Dr. Harper for 20+ years. Dr. Harper is an outstanding doctor with the best bed side manner. Doctor Harper is always willing to spend as much time with you as needed to answer all your questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Harper, in all my years I have never experienced a better experience with a doctor.

I wanted to pay as we go along with the treatments and not use the new insurance as I had a high deductibles I paid what the previous insurance had paid I don’t understand why we had to speak to his office manager at different office when he is the doctor. The doctor should have told me upfront at the first visit. I would have went to another doctor.

Naturally I was very nervous about my first colonoscopy but Dr. Harper was great!

RUN. This surgeonâ??s bedside manner is, at best, arrogant, at worst, cruel. Dismissive, cold, and unsympathetic, I had the misfortune of dealing with this doctor first hand, and am forever scarred by it. Truly, I am left both literally and figuratively scarred by this man. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would ever have to write this type of review, but I cannot in good conscience keep my horrible experience to myself. I implore you to go elsewhere, at the very least, for a second opinion, before you agree to anything he suggests. He treated my situation recklessly, ignored my pleas for further testing (which proved completely necessary, and altered my diagnoses), wanted to pointless, additional surgeries, and nearly left me incontinent. Once more: RUN. Do you, your backside, your psyche, and your wallet a favor, and go elsewhere! I hope his conscience haunts him forever because i'll forever be haunted by my experience with him.

Dr. Harper is kind, compassionate and an excellent doctor. I highly recommend him.
