I have been practicing orthodontics since 1986 and am still amazed by the positive change a healthy smile can make in the life of a patient. I enjoy what I do every day, getting to know my patients and their families on a personal basis and helping to improve their lives. I base each treatment around my patient’s individual goals and needs, making each new smile unique and healthy.
Education and Continuing Education
Before practicing orthodontics, I attained my Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Missouri in Rolla graduating summa cum laude and my Dental Degree from the University of Missouri in Kansas City " with distinction". I earned my Orthodontic Degree at the University of Iowa.
I am passionate about orthodontics and am always learning about new methods and technologies that can benefit my patients. I am on staff at St. Louis University, teaching surgical orthodontics.  I am a yearly guest lecturer at the University …of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry Orthodontic Department. I also serve an an examiner for the American Board of Orthodontics. I am also a member and past President of the prestigious Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, and have been a  national speaker for the American Association of Orthodontics.
I have been lucky to have a rewarding profession and feel it is important to give back to my community. That is why I teach current and future orthodontists. I want to make sure every orthodontist provides the highest standard of care so that every patient has a positive experience, no matter which office they chose. Teaching also helps keep me abreast of the latest and emerging proven orthodontic services which helps me provide the highest level of care for my patients.
In the Practice
Our practice is all about what you want and what you need. I take the time to listen to what you want from orthodontics and center your treatment plan on your goals and your clinical needs. My team and I always strive to make you and your family feel comfortable and at ease at each visit.
After over 26 years in practice, I am still awed by the life-changing effect of orthodontics. From simple treatments to complex surgical procedures, each service I provide helps my patients live healthier, happier lives. I can’t imagine doing anything else! The biggest compliment I receive in my job is the confidence patients and parents place in me by referring their family and friends.
We have a fantastic staff! They always want to ensure you and your family are well cared for. They all take their responsibilities to our patients seriously, and will always remember your name and what’s going on in your life. We all care about you as a person and want to get to know you. It's not just about being a patient.
Family Life
I grew up in Rolla, and other than attending university, have lived here my entire life. My wife, Kim, is a former elementary teacher and now our office manager. In my spare time, I enjoy hunting, farming, fishing and golfing. I also enjoy doing anything to support our community kids! I am a sponsor of several youth activities and organizations.  I also support local charities, like Heart to Heart for Women and the American Cancer Society.
