Dr. Steven Bradley Harter, MD

The fact that I came back to write a positive review and haven't set eyes on this man since 2009 should let you know something. He delivered my twin boys in 2007 and my twin girls in 2009. He was always patient and honest.

I came to Dr. Harter’s office because of his strong reputation as a VBAC-supportive OB in Las Vegas. I had a low transverse C-section in October 2023 and am currently due in July 2025 — making it a 21-month gap between deliveries. According to ACOG and other widely accepted medical guidelines, that’s within the recommended 18–24 month window for a safe VBAC. Unfortunately, I was told I’m not a good candidate because I didn’t wait 18–24 months before getting pregnant, even though the guidelines refer to the time between births. When I tried to respectfully clarify, I was met with rudeness and dismissiveness by the assistant, Kimberly. It was disappointing and disheartening, especially when I came in fully prepared and hopeful for informed, supportive care. I understand that not every patient is a fit for every doctor, but I expected better communication and evidence-based counseling. If you’re seeking a VBAC and your pregnancy falls within the standard 18–24 months between deliveries,… be sure to clarify their internal policy ahead of time.

Too many medical malpractice lawsuits and moms who have passed under Dr Harter’s care. Sad very sad. Babies should never grow up without their mom.

Outstanding physician in a good practice. Pros: His cesarean rates are rock bottom and his bed side demeanor is fantastic. He attends 90% of his patients births (a VERY difficult and extremely rare trait) and he treats his staff, the delivery nurses, and the support persons (fathers, partners, grandparents, etc.) with care and respect. Costs: His wait times can be very long BECAUSE he's attending to the delivery of another highly cared for patient. Natural birth can't be scheduled and when it begins you'll be glad you waited during regular appointments because Dr. Harter will be there instead of another random doctor.

If you don't mind waiting a bit during regular appointments in order to see the same doctor at delivery, Dr. Harter is an outstanding choice.

I love him

Prenatal office visits are short, rushed, and a turn off. It very easily feels as if the doctor does not care AT ALL. I felt more cared about from the female doctor that covers when he is behind. You also wait several hours to see him.

This place doesn't deserve one star. I will be as brief as I can, but my experience was by far unforgivable at this point and I don't want anyone else to go through what I did. 1. I showed up 30 min early like requested to do paperwork and wasn't even taken back for an hour and half. Once I went back it was another 15 minute wait. 2. I had an appointment to confirm that I was 7 weeks pg and was told I was miscarrying and they wanted to do blood work to confirm. (Dr saw an empty gestational sac). Okay I understand that. I was then sent to get my blood drawn by the rudest person I have ever had to deal with. She asked me to sign in and I said sure where is the sheet. She responded in a very rude tone, on the wall over there. So I look at the wall she is gesturing at and she like "hello" and I looked her and said sorry this is my first time here where is it. "On the wall" okay lady there are four walls in this place which one! She was so rude and kept talking down to me after I… was just told I'm having a miscarriage. Really?! You couldn't show me where the sheet was, but you could yell at me. 3. Then I had to wait another 15 minutes even though no one else was there. Manger came because of the above and didn't even offer an apology. Then I had to wait another 30 minutes to just check out... because it was someone's birthday and she couldn't be found to check me out. 4. Was asked to come back in 4 days later for another blood draw. Got a call after they got the results and they said I have to come in immediately. 5. I show up immediately and they make me wait another 1.5 hours. If it was an emergency why am I waiting so long. 6. Now I'm told they need to do an ultrasound ASAP because they think it's an ectopic pregnancy. But they don't have anyone working there who can do one. So they want me to go to another office right away. They ask me to wait in the waiting room while they try to get me seen. I wait 45 minutes and then am told I need to be somewhere in an hour and half... I asked should I just go to the hospital and they said no we want you to go to one of our ultrasound techs. 7. Went to that appointment and they said well you have a gestational sac so it should be an ectopic pregnancy did they tell you it was... uh yes. 8. They call the Dr and talk to him and give him my results. The Dr instructed them to tell me to go to another blood draw in the morning... so of course I did. He said it would be rushed and it too was urgent. 9. Go for the blood test, request isn't even in the system. They do it anyway and "put a rush on it" said I would hear back in 6 hours... well it's been 29 hours and I haven't gotten so much as a call back. This office is scamming people and playing on their fears. I will NEVER go back to this place. They should be closed due to malpractice. They only want your money. Don't waste your time. Now I have to find another Dr to help me and make sure nothing serious is wrong. Why wouldn't they call me after having me run around like a chicken with it's heads cut off and scaring me to death. Dr. Harter was nice... but his front office staff and phlebotomists is horrible. Not to mention after scaring me half to death he hasn’t even called me with my last set of results. I mean come on!!!!

I went to Dr Harter because I wanted to have a natural birth after 2 C-sections and he said he would let me try. I did great and got to 7 cm but then my baby's heartbeat dropped and I was raced into the OR. I am so thankful that my baby is alive and beautiful. The doctor continues to remind me of that but he ignores what he put my body through and puts the blame on me instead of trying to fix his mistake. I had massive bruising across my entire lower abdomen and it was hard. I called his office and asked to cone see him and they pushed me off to someone else. When they saw me they said wow! or oh!, No one could believe how bad it was. Finally when I saw him for my 6 week checkup he said that I have diastasis recti over 5 cm then the next words out of his mouth shocked me to my core. He said, "Normally I see that up"....??. What? Why didn't he?! It is 7 months later and I still have a whole in my gut and my guts are protruding! Called his office and told them he needs to fix this!… They said I can come in to see him but they are going to charge me a $190!!! No way! He recked my body and does not even care. So sad. I thought he was going to be the best doctor ever and he was no where near.

Excellent OB who really cares about his patients.
