Dr. Steven A Kane, MD

A very friendly Dr with a great bedside manner told us that immediate cataract surgery was the only option for our daughter. We went to Dr. Kane for a second opinion. He was recommended to us as a top pediatric eye surgeon in the area. After careful examination, he prescribed glasses which made a big difference right away. Very thankful we went to Dr. Kane, our daughter would have had to go through two unnecessary surgeries if not for his expertise!

My husband and I are pregnant with our first child. Our son was diagnosed with bilateral congenital cataracts at our 20 week ultrasound. I could not be any more grateful that we were referred to Dr. Kane. He could not have been any more kind or warm to myself and my husband and we've seen many doctors on this journey, none as nice or assuring as he has been. Don't go by other people's reviews - he was great to us and we are really looking forward to our son being in such great hands!

I called to schedule an appointment and double check if the doctor who was highly recommended by son's pediatritian accept my private insurance. when asked over the phone for this information the male representative was very rude and nasty. He didn't even let me explained what kind of insurance I have. Im not sure if it was because my accent but if it was so, You guys shouldnt be working with the Hispanic community. Whether the doctor takes the insurance or not there has to be courteous staff, you never know if my insurance get change and I decide to call you back. People get educated! it is not fair that because someone so ignorant like him, the doctor get poor review and lose patients.

dr.Kane is a skilled eye specialist truly devoted to his pediatric patients and their parents.He is very highly recommended

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Kane since birth, she is now 11 years old. If it wasn't for Dr. Kane she would not have had vision in her right eye for all these years! He is a quiet man, but, caring and very knowledgable. Dr.Kane explores every treatment before even considering surgery, I wouldn't dream of looking any where else. If you want the best treatment for your child take them to Dr. Kane.

He may be a good doctor, but not overally friendly, just okay. I didn't think he was that much better with kids than an average doctor.

If you take your child to another doctor because you don't think Dr. Kane is "nice enough", you are doing your child a diservice. He knows what he's doing. We took my son to 4 Dr's for his cataract and we ended up doing the surgery with Dr. Kane. He did not push surgery as my son is older (misdiagnosed by other less experienced and talented locals), but when other methods of improving vision did not work, we opted for the surgery. I personally would rather have the guy who is slicing open my kids cornea be calm and confident as opposed to be being Barney the Dinosaur.In all seriousness, if you're going to see this man regulary it's because your kid has a serious issue with their vision. You can provide the hugs, Dr. Kane provides the expertise. Your child is in good hands with Dr. Kane.

I've been bringing my son to dr Kane for 4 years now.Every time we go there and ask him a question it's like always saying something wrong.I always get snotty and wise guy answer.The only reason I still bring him there is because I don't know any pediatric glaucoma specialist.When I do find one I won't I won't be going back to him.
