Dr. Steven Kin, DO

I was dealing with sinus issues for many years. Dr. Kin got me into surgery and ever since, my life has been better. Maybe I gave him an easy target but he sure hit the mark. I highly recommend Dr. Kin if you have ear, nose or throat issues.

Not the greatest surgeon and horrible bad news "breaker"! He was assigned to my husband in the hospital. He had to stick a scope up his nose and down his throat to look for signs of a mass. He did it WITHOUT numbing the nose, first, so my husband was gagging the whole time (our normal ENT doctor used numbing spray). We were then told surgery was needed. Before surgery, we were told my husband would be completely asleep....what he didn't tell us was that for the first part of the surgery, my husband had to be awake while his mouth was clamped open and a scope stuck down his throat!! Dr. Kin didn't have an explanation for that when I confronted him. As we were being released from the hospital, we asked Dr. Kin if there were going to be any meds he should be on (anti-nausea, pain meds, etc). He just said "no", that he could take Tylenol and/or Motrin if needed. By the end of the week, I was calling Dr. Kin asking if he could prescribe some anti-nausea pills because my… husband still wasn't feeling right and very nauseous. He sounded like I was annoying him and argued that it wasn't necessary that he would get over it. When I asked him to PLEASE send in the prescription because my husband was honestly not coming off the affects of the surgery very well, he asked if he REALLY needed them and finally agreed to it. It's not like I was asking for pain meds.....just anti-nausea meds. If that wasn't bad enough to traumatize my husband, when we went to see Dr. Kin for the test results the following week, he proceeded to hold us up in his office while he went to find the test results (completely unprepared and didn't have them ready and had to go search for them) while we nervously waited for the results, and then matter-of-factly told my husband he had cancer! He couldn't tell us the name of the cancer, just that it was in his throat and tried to explain what it was near. While we were trying to process this information, he just told us that we need to find an oncologist and wished us luck. He didn't read us any of the results or try to explain anything about the results. We had to go back to our Primary care doctor to get some answers and to find out the detailed diagnosis. Even our normal ENT doctor was able to give us way more detail than Dr. Kin did. He was a horrible doctor!!

His office staff was very nice, and Dr. Kin was nice too. But his diagnosis was incorrect, and now I have permanent ear nerve damage. If you get injured on the job, he will not treat you or give his honest opinion because he does not want to deal with Workers' Compensation case. If your ear problem is related to your work, go to someone else. He will eventually tell you that anyway.

This was my first time seeing Dr. Kin for a very sore throat. After spending less than 2 minutes examining me, he wrote me a prescription for an antacid and walked out, no explanation. I had to ask the staff and they said he diagnosed me with acid reflux. I was skeptical but went ahead and filled the prescription. Within hours after taking it I was throwing up violently. I went to get a 2nd opinion and was told I had scarring from a recent sinus infection!! I'm wondering if Dr. Kin is even a real doctor. How do you confuse those two things? Please don't waste your time here.

Dr.Kin destroyed my ear. I am permanently damaged. He tortured me by trying to perform an tympanoplasty, but he FAILED. He neglected to do anything about the middle ear and mastoid bone infection so the torture was for nothing. I had to have 2 more surgeries to try to correct what he did. He doesn't deserve to be a Dr. I have permanent pain, tinitis and otitis media plus hearing loss. The Dr at U of M said I can't have anymore surgeries so I will never have a normal ear thanks to Dr. Kin. I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.

I have been his patient for alot of years now. He is the best and so is his staff. I trust them with my life.

He is the best dr. I know , he was a real life saver ! He sewed my son's ear up and it is looking great!!!! A million THANKS , God Bless You!
