Dr. Steven Keith Mangar

Dr. Mangar is a God Send to chronic pain patients. Because he listens to what is going on and tries to figure out if there is something that can be done. He sent me to other specialists. Surgery is not an option with my disease. I got worse after breaking both feet. So he sent me back to physical therapy and to Stanford to see an Orthopedic specialist when the ones here were failing miserably. You have to be your own advocate as well. If you aren't honest with the doctors with what is going oin they cant be excepted to read your mind. He was doing drug testing and is a great doctor with an extremely heavy case load. This witch hunt by Monterey County has done nothing but take an amazingly caring doctor away from patients who trusted and needed him. The bad patients are the problem. GO AFTER THEM! Not the doctors who at trying to give us a life! Without doctors like Mangar most of us would lay in bed with no life at all.

I like that he has a great bed side manner.he was my Dr, and my husband's to,for me I have saw him for 18+ years. And we would see him again. He helped me more than any other Dr has. And now my health is worsened. Give him licence bk.but he has helped so many people. We love your dr manger. Praying for you always.!!!

After two neck surgeries with painful chronic nerve damage and going through 2 previous PM doctors , he was the first Dr. to take me seriously. It took a while to get in for an appointment, but he spent ample time with me. He has improved my quality of life even while on an unfair witch hunt by the courts. He has maintained sincere care for his patients living with chronic pain under difficult unfair scrutiny.

If it wasn't for Dr. Mangar, I'd be bed bound all day long.

He is an excellent Dr.

Very knowledgeable and puts things in an understandable way. He monitors patients with tox and for drug seeking behavior, but got into trouble with law enforcement due to Monterey County District Attorney's Office politics. Seems that in this day and age, law enforcement wants no one to be prescribed narcotic pain relievers for chronic pain. Too many idiots don't want to stick with prescribed dosing directions. But honestly, you can't legislate stupid and hold everyones hand. The few ruin it for the many who legitimately need narcotics for effective pain relief.

Extremely poor time management...Always have to wait to see Dr. For 45 minutes or longer...However he always spends 30 minutes or longer discussing my case...Appears sincere in trying to accurately diagnose and treat...Try's very hard to cure your injury...Overall a very empathetic Dr...Can only do so much for chronic injuries and pain...

Great Dr. But doesn't spend much time with me at each appointment and has to be constantly reminded of why I'm there and had to look at my file to remember what is wrong with me. It took me 4 months to actually see him for the first time. Bit he treats me as a human with actual chronic pain and not a junkie off the street.

Very compassionate, he has the ability to make me smile and even laugh when I was losing hope due to 24/7 of incredible pain... Very encouraging, and after visits I feel that there are Dr's who care w/o making me feel like one in a herd of cattle just to make more money... I am certail there are many others who can relate to being treated like being 1 cow in a herd, that has less than 5 minutes to be heard...

I have been seeing Dr, Mangar for 8 years. After 9 serious back operations and double knee surgery Dr. Mangar got me walking good and I have a whole new outlook on life thanks to Dr. Mangar.....its up to the patient whether you want help or not. You need to follow his guidelines and do what he tells you. I am very proud to say he is my doctor. Praise God for wonderful physicians like Dr, Mangar.
