Dr. Steven Craig Marks, MD

Dr. Marks is a great surgeon. That's the only nice thing I am able to say about him. He is arrogant and cold. He pushes surgery and medications (he prescribed a drug for migranes for me, though I knew I didn't have migranes, and it conflicted with another medication he knew I was taking!) My pain turned out to be from the anxiety I was having because of having to go through post-surgery care where he didn't let anesthesia take effect before jamming a probe up my sinuses. His words "this is very painful". My next doctor's words "this should never hurt". My new sinus doctor, upon reviewing my scans told me I never needed surgery in the first place, that the polyp I had should have been monitored and would have most likely dissolved on its own. Disgraceful.

Went to Dr. Marks for sinus surgery and now I feel much better. Another reviewer mentions his bedside manner (or "manor" as they spelled it in their review), but I'm not so concerned about this. I want a surgeon who is technically good first and foremost and Dr. Marks is it. Yes, he's matter-of-fact, but that's a good thing in a doctor.

Dr. Marks is a nice man, but I would not choose him again. His bedside manor with my child was not very good. He pretty much rushed on the day of surgery and just wanted to get out instead of taking time with us. He forgot to write a RX for my child as well. He was unfamiliar with the file also. He is very blunt which could be a good thing but for what he is getting paid and my child is in his hands you would think/like to see a more compassinate and patient surgeon.

While his staff aren't the most courteous, they're not the least courteous I've dealt with in a doctor's office. Dr. Marks, however, is a great doctor who really explains things well. He's seen several people in my family and has helped them all with various ENT problems and he's operated on a few with very good results. I'd recommend him to anyone, all ages.
