You rarely find a doctor the caliber of Dr. McClane. Compassion, empathy and true care for his patients. From the first consultation, to the surgeries performed on my spouse. Simply an outstanding surgeon, you will be in no better hands. There are many options in this area, highly recommended not only from his patients but his peers.

Dr. Mcclane did a reverse ostomy surgery on my wife that had been botched badly by another surgeon twice. He had little tissue left to work with, but completed the surgery successfully. He also assured us through the whole process and explained exactly the risks and probability of success. Highly recommend.

Doc treated my wife's colon cancer. Treats you like an old friend. Just a nice man on top of being brilliant.

I had stage 3 rectal cancer. I was referred to Dr. Mcclane in house by another Cooper doctor. He immediately had his assistant schedule me for an appointment. He explained my situation to me. Told me I was in for a rough road, but he would take care of me, and that he did. He is still taking care of me three years later. He is a very compassionate, genuine person. He is not your typical surgeon. I believe I am alive today because of this man. I don't know why other people gave him anything less than 5 stars, I would give him 10 stars if I could. Take it from someone who is alive today to sing this man's praises!! He is AMAZING!!

Don't ever let Dr. McClane do a rectal prolapse repair on you. Ever. He did a procedure on me which another surgeon told me should only be done the very elderly, because it bunches up the rectum and makes it hard to have bowel movements. Yet Dr. McClane assured me, right to my face, that I would have normal bowel movements post- surgery. He must have known that that wasn't true. I have to go to the toilet so frequently now that my freedom of movement has been severely restricted. The damage is irreparable. Don't let your life be ruined, find someone else. Make sure they do the surgery through the stomach, not the kind McClane does.

Throughout the years, unfortunately I've had some of the worst experiences with members of the medical profession. I am thrilled to share that Dr. McClane is one of the most gifted surgeons I've ever encountered. His expertise is impressive, his bedside manner - particularly for a surgeon - was exceptional and his compassion genuine. I am approximately 1.5 years post op and there is no question that his efforts are the reason I am here to write this review. Simply the best!

Dr. McClane spent alot of time explaining exactly what to expect concerning my colon cancer. He gave me confidence in the surgical procedure. I feel great a year latter. Thank You Dr. McClane.

Dr. McClane explains everything before any procedures or treatments are started. He is prompt in his follow-ups and takes time to answer any questions his patients have. Very professional in appearance and manner, in short a model Doctor who cares about his patients and their well-being. And, he has a great sense of humor to boot.

Referred to Steven J Mcclane, MD with serious and ultra painful health issue by my primary care physician to arrive to a completely unprofessional and unfriendly environment. I felt attacked by staff and Dr. about making sure they got paid. I have full insurance by major carrier and pay all my bills. "we will help you. but we have to get paid" was a quote from the doctor. All this went on within 5 minutes of my presence in their office. I felt like I had no choice but to leave in pain and this office NEVER EVEN ASKED what was my medical issue.

Dr. McClane treated me for a very rare, slow growing carcinoid eight years ago. He made the whole experience as easy as possible and his care was both compassionate, knowledgeable, and complete. He was more than thorough, ensuring an excellent outcome and comprehensive followup. He is also a very nice person with a great sense of humor.
