Dr. Steven James Mee, MD

I disagree with the negative comment left by another patient. Dr. Mee is excellent. Public speaking really gets me anxious, and I’ve discussed many issues over the past 9 months. The therapy is enjoyable though at times hard (as it should be). He’s allowed me to look at myself and find happiness from within. He cares about his patients. I honestly think you can’t go wrong with Dr. Mee and I’m a physician telling you this. Go to him and try it out.

Dr. Mee saved my life. I was suffering from major depression and suicidal. He put me on right medication and helped me a great deal during a very difficult time. He is a brilliant and dedicated doctor.

I first saw Dr. Mee about 20 years ago when I was finally willing to take medication for my anxiety disorder/agoraphobia as my life had become unmanageable. Thank heavens, my then therapist recommended him. He saved me from my self imposed prison. Forward to 2017 when after a very difficult year, I returned to his care. Same pleasant demeanor-treating me as he would a good friend, remembering my medication quirks/fears and stating he would work with me. He has not changed over these long years. He is caring, on top of things and can explain what is happening to you and how certain medications can help/others may not be right for you. I am so very grateful to have him as you know, most psychiatrists are not like this and many are kind of odd. I hope he is blessed for all of his kindness and goodness. He truly goes the extra mile.

I am so grateful to have been referred to Dr. Mee. Dr. Mee is extremely knowledgeable, caring, honest, and challenging which makes him at the top of the Psychiatric and Psychotherapy field. I first started seeing Dr. Mee in 2009 when I was struggling with anxiety and depression due to the changes that Stage IV Cancer brings. While I was seeing him strictly for psychiatric purposes there was some psychotherapy involved as well. If I could have budgeted for psychotherapy with Dr. Mee I would definitely want to. I continued to see Dr. Mee for maintenance review through 2013. Then recently again. I was amazed at how after a break in time he was able to thoroughly recall my circumstances, but discuss and treat me my current needs. His costumer service is superior as well. There were many times I had problems with CVS and not getting my prescription and he would make sure that it happened. Dr. Mee is helping me get my life back, thankfully. I was terribly mis-medicated and Dr. Mee has put me on the road to recovery. He is compassionate, thorough, always available and explains every part of my healing process amazingly and in a way that makes me feel that I am a part of all decision-making for my health. Truly a one-of-a-kind Dr. and person!

my previous psychiatrist got me hooked on xanax to "help" my anxiety but after 2 years it stopped working. Dr. Mee explained why this happened then patiently worked with me to get off of it. It was really really hard but he was there for me the whole way. I am so grateful I found him!

Having never been to a psychiatrist before I wasn't sure what it would be like. But Dr. Mee made the experience very comfortable and got me in within days. I learned so much I feel like I took a class! Highly recommended.
