Dr. Steven E Mutchnik, MD

On Friday May 8th, I went through this vapor treatment for enlarged prostate (Rezum) with Dr. Steven Mutchnik. It was a harrowing experience. The pain was excruciating and the entire procedure brutish and cruel. He appears a smart and capable physician but is disorganized and chaotic. His nurses are not bad, but I found the office personnel at times rude and dismissive. Before the procedure I was given some local anesthesia, but it was hardly enough. Pointing this out to the nurse, she casually dismissed my concerns telling me to go to sleep. Of course, I felt no urge to sleep, not even mild drowsiness, and within a short time Dr. Mutchnik was there, proceeding without preamble, showing little empathy or concern. I cursed, yelled and screamed the entire time. It felt like someone had inserted a sharp knife in my anus and another in my penis. He was unfazed showing little sympathy, mumbling that this won’t take long as he hammered away. At the end of it I was told to go home and… take some Tylenol to feel better. But the ensuing pain and lingering soreness was intense and at times unbearable. I would advise the public to be careful with this guy. He is smart and good but lacks empathy and is at times quite unfeeling. The chaos around him is clearly taking its toll on his performance and is no doubt having an impact on the quality of care being rendered to his patients. I for one, am done with him. Paul R King.

double, triple books appointments. every single appointment i have been to he has been ATLEAST 1 hour late for his appointment as a result of his over booking. (he obviously wants to maximize profits, at the cost of sub-standard care). His bedside manner is absolutely awful, this man treats you like a number.. not a human being. He often will rush in and out of the appointment room without even giving you a chance to ask him questions or finish talking. This man does not care about his patients well being whatsoever, and should be reprimanded for his negligence in caring for his patients. Lastly.... his office staff are extremely rude and dealing with them on the phone is not pleasant AT ALL. Avoid using this man as a "doctor" at ALL costs, someone who is so cavalier and negligent he should lose his ability to practice medicine.

This man may be a good surgeon, but he has the WORST bedside manner you could ever imagine. He treats his patients like a number and NOT like people. be prepared to wait 1 hour on average past your original appointment time because his office is notoriously overbooked. When he finally does come in the room he will briskly ask you a few questions get in and get out. If you blink you might not even see him in the patient room, he is literally in and out that quickly. Would you like to know all the details and have a thorough conversation about your treatment? GOOD LUCK, it's not happening. Lastly, his office staff are incredibly incompetent and when you forward them messages to the doctor they will often get lost in translation or completely lost. This doctor could literally be a poster boy for arrogant surgeons who have NO business dealing with patients one on one. He should stick solely to performing surgery.

Arrogant, doesn’t listen to the patient or family. No follow up phone calls.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever hadcwith a doctor . Office staff over books appointments and average wait time is easily a half hour or more. Dr Mutchnik has NO bedside manner whatsoever. He affords the minimum in care, answers no questions and you are forgotten the minute you leave his office. No follow up. Choose any but Dr Mutchnik and his office.

Wait times in office are horrible. Bedside manner is horrible. Follow-up is horrible. Was paged several times while in hospital and he never responded. Aloof. Arrogant. Poor patient and family interaction. No email address for the office or the doctor.

VERY COMMUNICATIVE, CARING AND SKILLED PHYSICIAN

He is the second dr. I went to after first one failed to diagnose problem. He made a diagnosis immediately and prescribed a medication that worked

Dr. Mutchnik removed two massive kidney stones I had, even though he was rather curt about the part of the body he would be operating on, he did an outstanding job on both of them.
