Dr. Steven Overn, DO

We have been seeing Dr. Overn for about 20 yrs. He detected a heart problem in me...and a very serious disease in my husband that another doctor missed. He is intuitive..a straight shooter. He does not prescribe medication unnecessarily. He is honest and straightforward. He is the only doctor I trust.

I went to Dr Overn because I could not work due to high blood pressure. No high blood pressure is not a disability, but because of my line of work (truck driver) DOT regulations will not let me work if I don't get it regulated. I was off for 4 weeks with no pay. The short term disability at my job stated that if I get Dr Overn to sign the paper work that he treated me for hypertension, they would compensate me for time off. He REFUSED to do the paper work and his M.A. never called back as promised. I took the medicine as prescribed but my pressure would not go down. I told him the longer I stay off work, the more I miss pay, his words to me were "double up on your medicine" Now the prescription that was to last 30 days only lasted 20 days and for 10 days I had no more meds. The same man that would not sign the papers for me to get paid, charged me $248 the first visit and another $128 the next visit. When I tried to explain to him the DOT regulations, he was the most unconcerned… person I had ever spoken with. Thankfully I am a person who saved up 6 months income in case I ran across something like this. Best believe I'm looking for another PCP. Dr Overn is as heartless as a dead man. I would never recommend him to anyone else.

I love Dr Overn. Been going to him for over 20 years. Always very nice and could treat me or send me to a specialist. Always listens to my symptoms or just questions.

I went in for a physical, and only saw the actual doctor for about two minutes. He dismissed some of my concerns without addressing them. The employees at the front desk were rude and disinterested in helping patients.

Am thankful to Dr. Overn who saw me today while my doctor was out sick. He saw me promptly and was curteous and professional.

I went to Dr. Overn as my Primary Care Physician is on leave. I found the receptionists and nurse to hurry through conversations with me and I felt like I was a bother. Their level of customer service is very poor and they treated me as if I did not matter. Dr. rushed through my visit with him and did not take my symptoms seriously. I went to a better doctor and am now working with specialists as I have an auto immune disorder causing many other issues. It's a shame that all this office wants to do is prescribe antibiotics and then not hear from you again. Your job is largely a customer service job to the people - you cannot treat people that you don't want to serve and listen to.

He might be a good doctor but his receptionist and nurses are really stupid and careless. They refused to see me because they thought I needed to go to an emergency room even though all I needed was for the doctor to check my upset stomach. Obviously if I'm that sick to the point that I need help right away I would go to the emergency room myself I'm not stupid. They are not the doctor so how should they know what I need? If that is the case then whoever that is sick should go to ER and not visit a doctor in his office. I will never go there and tell everyone not to go there. If you have a cold you should go to ER and not to your family doctor. How stupid is that?

He misdiagnosed me. labeled me a drug seeker and refuse to treat proven pain. Called me "fat" when I'm not much over weight and put that I have high cholesterol and coronary artery disease in my record and I do not have either of those things. Likes to make appointments just to talk instead of talking on the on the phone, and billing the insurance.

FOUND THE DOCTOR TO BE FULL OF HIMSELF. YOU GO FOR A FOLLOW UP EXAM AND HE DOES'NT EVEN TAKE OUT HIS STETHOSCOPE..

His staff is great. He was very thorough & took the time to listen to all my symptoms & explain the treatment, tests, & medications.
