Dr. Steven Hodges Pickett, MD

After waiting for about 1 hour to see Dr Pickett - he met me for 60 seconds and charged my 500$ to tell me that nothing was wrong.

I was a patient of Dr.Pickett from 1999 till 2019.He is responsible for me being among the living today.I had seen 9 urologist before finding someone to confirm what I knew already that I had prostate cancer.I'm changing Urologist because sometimes I would have drive 90 miles for my appointments and I've gotten older and just don't like driving anymore.Thank you Dr. Pickett.

There’s a difference between poor bed side manners and lacking care for others and human decency. He caused my father to suffer. He’s a typical arrogant surgeon with a god complex.

Does not spend enough time explaining procedures, upcoming surgery. Always seems rushed. His nursing staff also seem very rushed.

I had the opportunity to schedule with Dr. Steven Pickett and I was astonished at the excellent test and routine the nurses and the doctors have put together. I am a total nutcase with exams and test and I felt foolish because they were extreme professionals and they are actually interested in me as the patient. What I was experiencing isn't funny. It's funny when we are two years old and trying but at my age this is embarrassing and I wasn't looked at like a cow at a slaughter house but as a real patient. I was given a medication that is making my body respond well and I feel the difference. I'm sure the symptoms that I have will end soon. When I heard someone charge at the desk person I was glad to see that the initimination wasn't there to provoke more agitation. Good customer service is hard to find these days and the entire office worked so well with one another it was just an amazing day for me. It showed that this office is fully aware of the steps to do a job well done… is in process. The Techs were great with me and I never knew I was being tested. Why can't it be like this everywhere else. It's done at my Dr. Krienke's office too. I'm just glad to see it.

Caring

Dr. is not very good at explaining what tests mean. He does not inform the patient of what exactly is occurring and what his diagnosis is and finally what the next step is and what the patients options are. I left there more confused than informed. I'm being seen for two issues and at this point I really don't know what is going on with either issue. I left his office extremely upset.

Accurate and quick diagnosis, but entirely overbooked and the wait is excessive. Even his staff acknowledges that you will be waiting over half an hour for every appointment - and worse as the day goes by. Try for early appointments if possible. Waiting room has been full to overflowing - standing room only on more than one visit.

The only thing I can say that I dislike about Dr. Pickett is the cost of his office visits. However, ALL physicians have what I consider high costs, so Dr. Pickett's aare probably in line with others.
