Dr. Steven Michael Rakes, MD

Dr. Rakes is an excellent ophthalmologist. He provided both my husband, mother-in-law, my friends, and myself, outstanding treatment and compassionate care, for over the past 25+ years. We are forever grateful to him and his wonderful staff. Vickie Checheris Boldt

One of my favorite Doctors ever, straight forward, I felt a personal connection not corporate he and his staff really cared and most importantly he did excellent work raising my droopy eyelid problem as a result of a corotid Artery dissection I had years earlier.

I took my daughter to see Dr. Rakes to see whether having surgery to correct her droopy/lowered eyelid would improve her vision. It was the only question I had, and he would not answer it. Instead he compared her droopy eyelid to being blind, asked what my family thought, and told me she is nice looking, outgoing, and does well in school so it shouldn't be a big deal. She isn't doing well in school and has additional issues with her vision which is why I was checking into whether surgery on her eyelid would help. Dr. Rakes also said he would talk to her regular opthamologist and get back to me which he never did.
