Dr. Steven Jay Scheer, MD

Dr. Scheer was very helpful and knowledgeable and kind. Never felt rushed and he was especially excellent at answering questions. He only does telehealth calls which at first I did not think I would like, but I actually love that! Sit on my couch and chat with him and it was so easy I didn’t have to download any app or anything they just send you a text. You click it and there he is. I did go to the local office to pick up the overnight test, you do not need to go to a sleep lab, is just at home. Michelle was the person I talked to on the phone and met in the office and she was great! I did a follow up with Amy, who was also fabulous. Definitely highly recommend this office!

I went to see Dr. Scheer in Sarasota, Florida several times over the course of several months for sleep apnea treatment. Over time, the severity and number of apneas slowly began to rise under his treatment. I went from having severe sleep apnea to having extremely severe sleep apnea as he his "treatment" continued to the point where I was having over sixty apneas per hour every night. I never got a single phone call asking what was going on, offering to help, nothing. I had to schedule more appointments to ask anything and each appointment had to be months out. Every time he simply looked at his watch, referred me to his respiratory therapist, dismissed me, and moved on. Every appointment had to be very fast with minimal interaction, no time for questions, no reviewing of anything in front of me. Finally with the number of apneas exceeding 60 per hour every night under his treatment (which was basically in my opinion, ignoring everything), I decided I'd better see someone… else who might actually listen to me. Turned out the whole time he was prescribing full face CPAP masks, completely oblivious to the fact that I told him repeatedly I snore and sleep with my mouth open as do 90 percent of the population. He was prescribing full face masks that were literally making me more sick. Nice.

He takes his time, very knowledgeable... Compassionate... does recommended tests for the issues.. I would refer him

Called for appointment... got one for just a couple weeks later! Saw Dr. Sheer for first time. WOW... addressed my needs, asked pertinent, intelligent questions, and spoke of MEDICAL ETHICS! This man knows what he is doing and is GOOD at it. Dr. took time with me and treated me with Dignity and Respect.

I should have been using CPAP long before Dr. Scheer convinced me to do so. I am pleased with his diagnosis and his obvious care about his patients.

I saw Dr. Scheer a couple of times for my Sleep Apnea. I was particularly impressed with Dr. Scheer's holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to my sleep problem, which helped me significantly. Dr. Scheer listened to my observations in connection with my sleep apnea analyzed and explained them to me, and as a result I am now able to better control and improve the quality of my sleep and have much better vitality and energy during the day.
