Dr. Steven Schnell, MD

This MD was very kind, caring and reassuring; I was worried going in re a spot on my retina but he explained my situation in depth, did a comprehensive exam and was calm and competent. I did not feel rushed and he answered my questions in depth.

I had the best experience with the doctor this morning. The office staff was really nice. Dr. Schenell was really knowledgeable and explained everything to me in detail. He took his time to examine my eyes and was very gentle. On the other hand I was happy I do not need surgery and he did not rush to that either. I will go back to him in 3 months for a check up. Very good and sincere doctor. Easy to talk and ask questions.

I made this appointment with the expectation of cataract surgery per my regular eye doctor. I explained this when I first called; he does advertise that he does cataract removal. After 5 pages of paperwork, a receptionist, an examiner and intense eye testing this Doctor tells me he no longer does cataract removal (due to arthritis)...which is why I went to him in the first place. He referred me to another Doctor who he swore was in network for my insurance though it turns out he was not. So I had to start all over with the process of searching my insurance carrier provider list, paperwork, exams etc. Even though this was a pointless visit Dr Schnell told me he was required by law to charge a co-pay (specialist) as he had done the work and put in the time and that it wasn't his fault that I had self diagnosed??? This along with a lot of rambling and was difficult to communicate with. This is mis-representation of services provided, requesting payment and I'm sure a healthy dip into… my medi-care funds under false pretenses and being physically and mentally unfit to perform his job.
