Dr. Steven Richard Schwan, DDS

UPDATE: Dr. Schwan called me about the work he had done. After repeatedly telling him I did not wish to discuss anything with him, he continued to argue and told me I did not know what I was talking about and hung up on me. After 23 years in dentistry, helping with instruction in dental study clubs, working on full-mouth reconstruction, and TMJ cases, pretty sure I do. When I originally contacted this office, I never received a call back to schedule my initial appointment. Finally on the fourth call, someone answered. Upon arrival Dr. Schwan came out to the waiting room to talk about himself for at least 15 minutes and talked about how knowledgeable he is about dentistry and also talked about his personal life. Really? After the initial appointment, I had a tooth prepared for a crown and since it was late was told the office manager would call to schedule the next appointment - which she never did. A week later I called. Since I was numb to have the crown seated, after I left I… discovered the bite was high. It took me two more appointments and on the third visited he adjusted my bite so I was ONLY hitting on one tooth in my mouth! He then told me he was unable to fix my bite and refused to do anything more unless I paid $400.00 so he could use his computer technology to adjust my bite. I have had nothing but problems with my bite (absolutely NO problems before then) and have had to go to another dentist to repair the damage he had done to my bite - which consequently affected other teeth. When I called to request my records his assistant answered. When I asked why she was answering the phones she told me he is not able to keep front office people and the only reason she stays is it works well with her second job. During my visit, he constantly berated her but then would turn around and say how great she is. Made me very uncomfortable.

Always a good experience, I trust him completely. Great perfectionist in dentistry.
