Dr. Steven Gerald Selter, DO

Dr.Selter is one of the few greats left in medicine, a doctor who fully understands both the science and the art of medicine. He spends the time to listen to his patients, and treats them as individual cases and not as part of an assembly line with pre-determined treatments regardless of symptoms. He leaves no stone unturned until he can discover the cause of the patient's ailment, and then he treats the cause until the patient returns to good health. izf you are looking for an internal medicine doctor who you can trust and relate, Dr.Selter and his associates are where you should visit.

How fate

This office is one of the most inefficient, most poorly managed and most incompetent I have ever been to. You can get everything they provide and more off the internet and you don't have to wait 55 minutes siting in a very uncomfortable waiting room (which is always filthy and dusty) only to be put in an exam and wait another 20 minutes longer until you are graced with a 5 minutes visit with a nurse practitioner who has no clue what she is doing. Not once have I ever been seen at the time of my scheduled appointment and they always have an excuse as to why they are running late. The longest I sat in the waiting room was about 90 minutes and then I had to wait in the exam room an additional 15 minutes before someone entered.I know many people who have left this practice for similar reasons and I am going to join them. Don't even think about seeing an actual doctor. He's never there and lets his nurse or PA handle everything. Also this office only practices defensive medicine meaning… what they say and do is simply to cover their a$$. The answer to all questions are either straight off of WebMD or the answer is "because it's routine." They also perform unnecessary tests and procedures so they can pad the bill to the insurance company. Just my opinion but go somewhere else.

Dr. Selter has no commitment to the individual. It takes weeks to get an appointment directly with the Doctor, and most concerns are handled by the PAs and NPs. However, there is a constantly changing staff, and the likelihood of you seeing the same physician twice in a row is slim. As a whole this practice refuses to think outside of the box in terms of medical diagnoses, and if they cannot solve the issue after 2 appointments, they write it off as imaginary or unknown, and treat you like you're crazy for wanting answers. They are more than willing, however, to waste your time in the waiting room, and then ignore any concerns you voice in the exam room, so that they can collect your copay in good conscience.
