Dr. Steven Shaw

Steven Shaw, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where he graduated with Honors and where his focus was on ocular disease management, primary eye care, low vision, and specialty contact lens fittings. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology with a Minor in Mathematics and a Minor in Physics at Florida State University and, after working as a meteorologist for three years, he moved to Philadelphia to attend optometry school. Dr. Shaw and his wife, Dr. Strucko, met in optometry school, married, and became co-founders of EyeCare Center of Ocala. He enjoys working with his patients and looks forward to providing high-quality care in all aspects of optometry. He loves technology and is always looking for the next best piece of technology to provide even better care to his patients. Dr. Shaw holds professional affiliations with the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, and the North Central Florida …Optometric Society. He is also certified by The Florida Medical Association and the Florida Optometric Association to prescribe oral medication for the treatment of eye disease. When Dr. Shaw is not in the office treating patients, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and enjoying the outdoors.
