Steven Lewis Sorensen

Steven Sorensen is a physical therapist practicing in orthopedics at Intermountain Health’s Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation – Avenues Clinic in Salt Lake City, Utah. He supports patients in Salt Lake City, North Salt Lake, and surrounding communities specializing in hand therapy.

Steven became interested in physical therapy after getting injured playing football. He sought care from a physical therapist who took extra time to listen, assess, and provide effective feedback when other providers would not. On a later date, Steven received care from a hand therapist who introduced him to the unique world of hand therapy. Because of this experience, he focuses on one-on-one care, listening carefully to patients and developing individual treatment plans based on evidence and tailored to their unique needs. 

Steven is originally from Utah and spent two years residing in Chile. He has a background in music, having played the trumpet for three years with the University …of Utah Marching Band. Now, Steven enjoys traveling with his wife and two children, particularly to Disney Parks. Outside the clinic, he enjoys watching sports, playing music, and working on home improvement projects and tending to his vegetable garden.
